This game (on PC) is so amazing, it's like to have Gran Turismo on your PC! :D

A little lap at Donington (sorry for the ratio, stupid youtube screwed up)
nice mass transfer with the physics in action. With the new mods, this games will rule them all!! (slowly but surely, GTR2 modders start to UNLEASH the GTR2 physic engine under the arcade hood!)

these pics are unedited, except i shrunk them from 1680x1050. graphics are great. i just hope gt5 has more realistic handling :p

I must say it looks amazing on a PC... WOW!

While SHIFT on the PC looks pretty amazing especially the lack of jaggies, it's still no contestt to the way GT5 handles light and the details on the cars.

Once you remove the blur/bloom effect (like you see on the screens with the S2000) in the options (like I did with my red Porsche), it's pretty much like GT to me, except we have Porsches, High Resolution x8 AA and more than constant +60FPS (on a good PC)... ;-) and the track environment (3D photographers and other people) is just awesome and all 3D (even the spectators).

Personally, I really don't like the new "motion blur halo around the car" on the Gran Turismo Screens...

seems like the textures and track modeling are more (but not quite accurately) detailed in shift from what i've seen. gt5 needs something to make the environments seem more alive and no so sterile and static. of course, this is all based on rt246 video. other tracks have crowds and waving flags etc.

I think the GT5 tracks look static/lifeless because the tracks are too "clean" on GT5. :scared:

Adding a bit of contrast as well as making the road and armcos look more banged up makes it beleivable. I used to Mod LFS and changed the textures by giving it a rough, high contrast look and it came out better.

What are the pc requirements for this?? I am thinking of switching to the pc version soon, gtr2 modders know what they are doing. Need to buy a new graphic card. Nvidia should be the best on this. I have a dual core amd athlon 32 bit vista, 3g of ram, its a HP computer. Need a bigger powersupplier and better graphics. Will i run fine?

My PC:
E8500 Duo core @ 3.5Ghz (from 3.0 GHZ overclock'd)
4 Gigs RAM
Nvidia 9800 GTX 1 gb RAM
Ultra Sata 3 HD
For the Porsche Screens: Straight from the game reduced to 800x700 from 1650x1080, All setting at max (except shadow on normal) AAx8, Anisotropic x16, FPS 45-55 constant in quick race no AI cars - normally to keep the same framerates during career, I put AA to 4.

Well first of all this is a PC game, PC games will always have superior power to any console game just for the sheer fact that they are indeed more powerful. Also Shift requires an powerhouse of a machine to run looking good. To put it into perspective, it requires more resources and more powerful graphics than Crysis does.

it requires more resources and more powerful graphics than Crysis does.

no, it doesn't. I cannot run Crysis at the same level of performance with my rig. SHIFT is pretty weel optimized for Nvidia cards.

Pics from the PC remain breath taking... 👍

wow us PS3 users definitely got the short end of the stick, when i first popped SHIFT into the ps3 and saw the first BMW they have you race, the rough jaggies were horrible, i was thinking "are you serious?". The in-game graphics on the ps3 are pretty good, but the replay and menu graphics are pretty bad. Those PC shots look great. :)👍

Would be nice to see this game on the PC... especially with this setup I got. Playing NFS on tri screen is really awsome. Now I want GT5 next.

So what kind of PC set-up do you need to run Shift with those graphics?

IMO Shift looks as good as you could hope for (or need) while actually in-game. The replays are very weak though, which makes it unappealing to watch replays. I take it the replays on PC look much better?
