The reason I am asking this is because it would stop a lot of people complaining about other games with Photomode being posted in the GT4 Photomode forum. Also I reckon this would allow people to see other peoples Photomode work from another game, which they may never see in say the Xbox 360 forum.

But remember a forum like this would contain these games:

GT4
GT5 (Most Likely)
TT
Test Drive Unlimited
PGR3
Forza Motorsport 2
PGR4 (Most Likely)

However maybe Jordan could even setup a Photomode forum in the Xbox 360 forum, for the Xbox 360 games, which have a Photomode option.

That is a good idea, but sooner or later to get to a photomode forum, you have to go through a game-specific page. Notice how the GT4 photomode section is in GT4. Now would it provide an outlet for people who want to post something else? yes.

A fair idea, but that would kind of defeat the purpose of the other sub-forums there already. A gallery for each game type in each forum is a good way to organize things. But then, people could argue against that... Adding links to people's signatures to other galleries - for example, like you say, the 360 forum - is more than enough.

On the subject of your new competition, it is the only one here (that I know of) like it at this time, so I don't think a new forum is needed...

As for a Xbox 360 Photomode forum, that's a good idea, especially with Forza 2 coming along in just over a month or so.

I like the way it is now, maybe only add those as a sub-forum? GT4 and TT are already "subbed" but for some games it would be interesting.

I don't think a seperated forum for all of these would be a good idea because at the moment, it's only the GT4 Photomode forum which is very active but there isn't too much activity in the TT forums. Also, with all these new games, it would be most likely that most of the people are still on GT4 which could lead to all of the topics getting blended. However, with all sub-forumed, this could be fixed but I think only the GT4 section would be very active.

For now, I'd suggest the "sub-forum" idea rather than creating a new seperated forum for it 👍

And what's wrong with the general graphics forum that already exists, and is hosting your contest currently?

I think this could work. Maybe have a sub forum in the mulitmedia forum for just Photomode?

I personally don't think photomode and its derivatives deserve a whole new subforum. There's a subforum for GT4 and for TT regarding pics, I believe, and if you need one to post all your pics, there's a general graphics forum to post them all.

Again, I don't like to repeat what others say.

Whenever GT5 comes out it'll definitely get its own sub-forum and within that one there'll probably be a Photomode sub-sub-forum.

When GT5 comes out I'm sure there will a photomode forum for it too, but it would be easier for people to have one single gallery, instead of having a GT4 gallery, a TT gallery, and a GT5 gallery.

G.T

...And I'll bet you my breakfast that it'll be as popular as PGR3's photomode. You're going to have the 3 same guys opening their galleries, a dozen other members will upload a few photos just for the hell of it, and then within a month no one will really care.

But hey! Don't let me get you down. :indiff:

There is something that needs to addressed here. You don't build the infrastructure to create the need. It needs to be the other way around. If there is a need, then the infrastructure will be built to accommodate that need. Jordan defines what those needs are. Forums/Sub-Forums are created mainly for organization of topics. The more topics of a particular category, the greater the need for it to be separated into it's own category.

Exactly! I couldn't have put it better myself.

Yep 👍

Maybe.

There probably will be an eventual build up, so no doubt there will be a need for one in the future. I think it would be a good idea to make one now and move the couple of threads made already in there - and to encourage more people to make a gallery as there is a sub-forum. But I guess it doesn't always work like that...

It's Jordan's decision in the end. :)
