kinda off the subject...but how many of you guys actually held an i-link battle with all 6 ps2's and people playing simultaneously? i've always wanted to try it with my 5 other friends and see if it was worth the money for the i-link hub, all the link cables, and the work to bring all these tv's and ps2 to someones house.

I have a bunch of friends who meet up every 2-4 weeks and have a 6 player i-link night. It's superb fun as racing other people of a similar standard adds a whole new dimension to the game.

The major difference for me is in the passing and blocking. Because the other drivers are driving the same (or similar) cars and unlike the AI always use 100% throttle on straights getting past them cleanly can be tricky.

The cost of a hub isn't too much about £65 for a Belkin one in the UK which isn't much split between 6 people - and you need to buy a cable each.

Moving your PS2 and TV about is a pain (especially if like me you need a wheel and pedals), but I find it worth it as it feels much more like a motor race than going up against the AI cars.

I would LOVE to try linking and racing 6 at a time!

Somehow I bet there'd be a little trash talkin' goin' on! LOL

Cash for 1st place - you must be joking. The guys I race would almost kill for a win as it is. There's usually enough desperate driving in a 6 car 7 lap race to fill a fill F1 season. And as for trash talking, there are a few accusations made.

hmmmmm
the 6 car drifting idea won't be too bad.....
now we just need enough people to stay there for quite a while so the ppl can shoot...... hehe
imagine, the gt3 version of initial d
 thatd be cool

is it possible to do i link where every player gets a tv? i cant stand playing split screen as it feels very akward. i too wish i could try this out with someone. but i dont know anyone that likes gt3 enough to do it.

again i will say i dont think the drifting idea would be that good. drifting for exhibition makes sense, but drifting to be the fastst doesnt make much sense.
