Okay, I was really just thinking about how I miss driving the Suzuki GSX-R/4 in GT4 and couldn't think of the name of the Japanese designer who did the concept car and the idea for a thread dawned on me. So post your favorite car designer and a photo of thier works that you like. To start things of here is the photo of the Suzuki GSX-R/4 and if anyone knows the name of the designer please let me know.

Note: Don't be afraid to post the same designer if you have a different photo of another design they have done.

Ultraflow,
Spot on! haha I had a feeling that would be the first one to be posted. Now lets hope some one comes up with and obscure designer we never thought or heard of.

Peterram430,

I can see Fiskers signature line he uses from each car he designs. Very nice and classic lines there. Did he do the Jag convitible too? It kinda goes along those lines IMO.

The Jaguar XK was designed by Ian Callum, who also used to work at Aston Martin designing the DB7 and Vanquish.

So was it a colaboration or who was working under who when they did the Aston Martin designs?

Separate designers and separate design positions.

Pininfarina

They built the best cars for the best manufacturers!

The name which you're looking for is Ken Okuyama. He is an unmistakably talented designer, one of the best in the last few decades. Here is a shortlist:

Here is another design that Ken Okuyama has done that I like.

If we want to talk about a designer that has had a pretty big effect on modern design, a nod would have to be given to J Mays. His time at Volkwagen and Ford have produced some pretty groundbreaking hits, but also some massive failures as well. Love it or hate it, however, we can look to the man for starting the Retro-Futurism craze that began with the Volkswagen New Beetle, and continued to push influence with cars like the Ford Thunderbird, Ford GT and the 2005-2009 Ford Mustang (not to mention leading design for all of Ford Motor Company).

I think Ed Welburn needs a bit of recognition as well. Although he hasn't had a controlling hand in a major design for some time, he has played a major role in the re-invigoration of GM's design post-2003.

Ferdinand Porsche

My favorite designers are whomever designed these two:

Well I think since you are reffering to the Porsche GT we might as well mention the Great "Ferdinand Porsche"

Tom Matano

Speaking of Modern Retro I think Tom had a lot to do with bringing back the convertible top British Retro

Pininfarina. Amongst the Ferrari's there's beautys like the Maserati GranTurismo, Birdcage 75th and the Quattroporte, the wonderful Peugeot 406 Coupe, the 95-onwards Alfa Romeo GTV/Spider, the MGB GT, and the spectacular 1936 Alfa Romeo 8C .

The best looking Ferrari ever made.
