Why am I so terrible at ACC?

I've had all the GT games from 1-7, all F1 games and other driving games in between. I love the way ACC feels(so visceral) but I can't for the life of me figure out how to drive that Huracan fast enough around Monza to win just the first friggin race. I want to get the freshly updated version of ACC but will I hate myself even more?
 
Just got to work at it. I am not the greatest I have won the first race myself. I have been doing time trials until I get better
 
ACC tire physics, whilst they have the 5 point tyre model now, it's still not matured. Some cars handle worse than others but for the cars that handle, the game's good. And the tyre model overall needs a lot of work so it's more consistent with reality. Make sure you run with TC on then you can turn it down as the laps go
