Why are all Spa lobby hosts restricting tuning?

I've noticed this when joining Spa lobbies. Since the overseas GT5 players got the track, I've yet to see a free run with no tuning restrictions. It's all low powered cars with the option to tune off. Why is that? I just want to do some free run laps on Spa with whichever car I choose and no restrictions for tuning 👎

Probably for the reasons of Ramming and Un-Enjoyment. They're trying to enjoy nice drives without some people driving an insanely fast car, and possibly ramming every once-in-awhile.

They're probably keeping things clean and slow, as they want to enjoy this new course.

Okay I get that but why restrict tuning? Make the pp low but have the option to tune. I guess I'll have to wait till Tuesday to run on Spa the way I want to lol. Also I noticed a lack of Spa lobbies online. Even early morning here when there are lot's of overseas hosts, very few Spa lobbies. Interesting.

I find them all the time without restrictions. I just got out of a free run lobby after playing for 5 hours.

Well I refreshed the list many many times, with srf on/off and found three Spa rooms today in the span of an hour and all with tuning restricted.

I find international servers way more enjoyable than the US ones because of some of the reasons the OP said.

There's no competition in a race with cars that don't belong to the same league, which is what happens when tuning is not restricted.

They also pick a wider selection of tracks, way less x2010s, and most importantly, there aren't kids.

On the other hand, there's an awful lot of dirty racing.

I think you're having a run of bad luck. I haven't had any trouble finding lobbies with tuning allowed.
You're right, though. In just a few days we can all enjoy SPA how ever we choose.

It's cool I was just wondering about that. On Tuesday I will host a free run SPA lobby for as long as I can. Should be fun.

As a north american playing on spa servers, the thing I've encountered most is Spanish lobbies kicking me

Does Spain have something against the US?

:P

We don't speak Spanish. Most of us that is.

You're asking a question that only the people doing the restricting will know the answer to. Why not join their room and ask them? 💡

I joined one about a couple of hours ago. We had about three races with the pp of 600 and something and then changed it to 581. Other then a weight restriction of 1100kg as well, there was no other restriction so we could race freely.

I am looking forward to many more lobbies like this.

Since I got my PS3 back from the dead I'm been playing that track a lot and I've always find the unrestricted ones.

I host a lot of Spa races.. Mostly free run with a few short races alittle now and then.. PP set to 610, no tuning restriction, racing hards, no driving aids, only ABS.

Why not? I don't think it's all that uncommon.

Spanish and French hosts tend to kick anyone who isent from their country, most are dirty drivers anyway so probably best avoided

Exactly this ^^^^

OP try opening your own lobby and then you make the rules. 👍

I find many spa lobbys i can only connect to non australian ones for a short time before i get disconnected.

All australian ones i try to connect to i get error 547(incompatible network)

So True!

It's to balance the cars. Else it would be a boring race. :sly:

Btw. do you know, there is a power limiter in the tuning options & you can add balast to match the regulations. :dunce:

Well as soon as I get the dlc on Tuesday that's what I'll do. If anyone sees my lobby on SPA on Tuesday stop on by. It will be a free run lobby but there will be some short races mixed in there too.

I have more problems with Spanish ran lobbies and drivers than any other, why this is the case I have no idea and I've never really had a problem with French ones either. For some reason the Spanish drivers (not all of them I would hasten to add, most are ok) more than anyone else kick me out or they like to barge through to the front as much as they can
