why are b spec drivers so crap?

I give them the fastest car possible, he races cars with half the power and he cant overtake, refuses to get off the racing line and just rams people, the only time he is off the racing line is when he is off the track. earliest car on the brakes, latest to accelerate. Are they made to purposely be terrible or to make racing drivers look bad? lvl.36 and no better than when he was lvl.10

It can depend on the driver personality. Some of the cooler drivers just aren't very agressive. A few of my BOB's are very agressive, especialy in remote races.
 
You do know that you're supposed to manage him? You can't really just set him off and let him go unless he massively overpowers the opposition.

I do, constantly. If I say increase pace he crashes, if I say maintain pace he gets overtaken, if I say overtake he rams people. The only thing he can do is decrease pace.

I personally like a "cool" personality. Worked with me thus far, now with 4 lvl 40 drivers and the other 2 at 37 lol.
