I never put words in your mouth, must be the that crack your talking about in your mouth instead, hahahahaa.

LOOK...I'm just pointing out that the T500 is the best wheel for GT5, and IS better than the Fanatecs, and given he wants to sim on GT5, a smart option is to get the Thrustmaster. If the Fanatecs worked just as well, I would say stick w/ the Fanatecs, but they don't, it's subjective but the consensus backs that up, given there's still a demand for Fanatecs and they may change later on down the road when the T500 price DOES drop, you're right about that, most likely that is what will end up happening (not always, rarities do occur), so I still say it's the smartest and best option to go w/ at the moment before he may have to spend more money later on down the road if he were to sell his Fanatec for a T500, if the T500 price doesn't drop. I'm guessing your biased against Fanatec and don't like to hear any other options that don't have to do w/ it? It's reality that the T500 is the better wheel, not dogging on Fanatec at all, it's how it is.

I don't recommend Fanatec either based on other reports of bad customer service, or just inconsistencies, there's a whole thread of people waiting for their GT2 CSP package, that would suck if I were one of those people.

I thought the PWT was the Turbo S, I presumed so given that I always saw PWTS being the Turbo S, thought this was same title in it's meaning, doh.

I would hate to live my life making assumptions off of what other people said, and then taking those assumptions and giving advice to people based on them. How can you comment on a bunch of wheels that you do not own or have used?

The fanatec wheels are not an option for him, but they are very nice wheels, and we will have to wait and see about the thrustmaster. Few have it and it only works with 1 game. How could you possibly make a call on what we have seen so far with this wheel?

It blows my mind how people jump on the bandwagon of something they have either never seen or tried. Would you want people giving you advice on things they have never experienced? It's like people telling you how to raise your kids, and they don't even have kids.

There is no way I would buy the thrustmaster wheel, until it has been out long enough to get the pc drivers working, and see how many PS3 titles it will work with.
That being said, I think his only real quick buy options are one of the logitech wheels, and that just comes down to how much he wants to spend.

What has made you decide that the thrustmaster wheel is better then the fanatecs? I'm just curious, through your extensive testing of the thrustmaster, and all of fanatec line of wheels, why you like the thrustmaster better, based on your own personal experience with them.

This forum was so much better before GT5 was released.

Nevermind. I went back and read some of your other posts. It looks like I got sucked into a flame war with someone who uses a microsoft wheel, and has no real experience with any other wheels. You use foul language and call people names as often as you can. You continually break the rules of the forum and I really don't see how you still have an account here. The mods must all be on vacation or something.

Just ignore my other posts. You are right and I am wrong. Everyone buy the new thrustmaster wheel, it is the end all be all of steering wheels and nothing else is even a close second. It is perfect in everyway. I'll take Hz's word for it, because he uses other peoples posts on the internet to base his own opinion and that's good enough for me.

One more thing. It looks like your thrustmaster being the "best wheel by far for GT5" was a short lived title. Frex is making a wheel that will work on the PS3.

thanks guys for keeping this thread alive.

I am afraid that Fanatec is avoiding responding to this thread, the ID Fanatec logs onto GTplanet every day and it simply has got nothing to say about this matter, apparently.

ultimitsu, I have the same problem as you, I'm in new zealand and brought my PWT from www.mightyape.co.nz and need this new dongle to be able to use it for GT5.

I have also contacted mightyape and got the same reply about them not dealing with their supplier anymore, I'd be interested to know if you ever have any luck with them.

-=DV=-, I'd be happy to spend $30USD to get this dongle, but the problem is, is that Fanatec don't ship to New Zealand, I've tried to contact the Fanatec web store about shipping to NZ but they just ignored me.

keep checking this thread, if anything is to happen, it will happen here.

I actually quite like the wheel, and dont intend to sell it and get something else, that is too much hassle and realistically, how much can one get from a 2 year old electronic product? the outcome I really want is for Fanatec to come out and set things right as they promised, and I will continue to buy Fanatec products in the future if they do the right thing.

I already made a clear statement on my blog how we handle the topic. We give away free dongles and coupon codes. And we send free dongles to our distributors. That is all we can do. Do you expect that we exchange the wheel against a brand new one becauee one game is not working?

Thomas is taking care of my problem. Thanks, for the quick response Thomas.

It actually appears that you have unrealistic expectations. Fanatec is offering a solution so that you can get up an running on GT5 for a wheel that is now 3 generations old. That's above and beyond what should be reasonably expected in terms of support.

I don't think you'd see Sony giving you PS One parts or even PS2 parts at this time.

I understand exactly how you say you handle this problem, and that is not happening for me.

I do not, and did not say, that I expect my wheel to be replaced, I asked my retailer to source a replacement dangle from you guys, which is exactly how you said you would handle it, and he is getting no response from you guys.

my retailer is www.mightyape.co.nz, the rep's name is Ben, I believe I stated this much in my previous post.

I bought a product with the expectation that it would work on PS3 racing games, specifically GT5P and to-be-released-at-the-time GT5, this is unrealistic? it doesnt matter if it 3 gen old in your book (how did you come up with 3?), it is advertised for PS3 racing games and as long as GT5 is a PS3 racing game, this product is current.

this analogy is completely out of line. do you see sony release ps3 games that wont run on 4 year old first batch ps3s?

Try paganian imports in Australia...also HES...they are both fanatec resellers and im sure they would post such a small item to nz. If not I would be happy to take delivery of it and pass it onto you if need be. The fanatec is a great wheel and is well worth staying with.

I contacted Paganian Imports and they were happy to send the PWTS dongle over to New Zealand, cost me $50AUD =~$50USD, it arrived a couple of days ago, Can finally play GT5 with my 911 turbo wheel. Thanks

Does anyone know if I can upgrade the firmware on the PWT to the latest version 681 with the PWTS dongle, and will this give me the extra settings on the wheel?
