I still don't understand why people are still whining over one little thing or the other for GT5. If you ask me, it has to be one of the most improved sequel in video game history...
Good stuff it introduces in the series:
+ Day/Night transition
+ Skidmarks
+ Reverse Lights
+ Cockpit view yes only 20% have it but at least they will be a joy to look at
+ More cars than any previous game Approx. 300 more than biggest previous roster
+ Damage So it may not be spectacular on all cars and maybe not ZOMG realistic but at least it's decent enough for a first shot
+ Improved graphics and effects such as dust, smoke, grass particles, dust lighting, etc.
+ Improved physics
+ Improved sounds
+ Course Maker OK somewhat limited but besides open source PC racers which other racing game has this?
+ NASCAR
+ Kart racing sort of out-of-the-picture but I know this will deliver
+ Official WRC
+ Online the single biggest addition that can happen to any game PERIOD
+ More tracks though still unconfirmed I cannot see why the tracks should number less than in GT4
+ Improved the B-Spec
+ Improved AI compared to previous installments
+ Licenses of many new manufacturers Lamborghini, Bugatti, Maserati, Ferrari, McLaren, Tesla, etc
+ More cars on track
Some negative aspects of the game
- Two-tier system in car roster which results in inconsistency among details, damage and whatnot
- Sounds are still bland
- Damage still isn't that realistic from footage we've seen
- AI still lacking
- That's it?
People tend to leave out what is present and only look at what is lacking or absent. But if you take it as a whole picture, I honestly cannot see why GT5 will disappoint. So sure some stuff still require improvement and I agree it will take time but, for the first installment on this generation, I think they'll deliver alot.
