Ive been doing alot of drift races online.
And i notice how alot of people use 4wd cars.
From lamborgini's to bugatti veyrons :yuck:
Some people dont even drift at all.
And while im going sideways doing a perfect drift,
They just creep up from behind overtake me, smash into me and ruin it :nervous:
Whats the point of this????

I think we should have an option to restrict the cars to RWD only.

That won't fix any of your problems except for the appearance of "4WD" cars, which is also irrelevant as AWD is a popular (and perfectly reasonable) choice for a drift car in a videogame. Some of their real-life counterparts would spew drivetrain parts all over the track after a while, but some are also designed to be able to slide easily (and deliberately).

Exactly the same with me mate.. I go out there to drift and some inconsiderate bobble head comes along in a Civic or a Tank car, or a Veyron.. whatever.. and smashes into me ruining my drift.

The point of it you ask? Well they're obviously mentally incapable of making adult decisions and therefore get their jollies from doing stupid immature stuff like this. Have you ever seen people go the wrong way around the track then have a head on with you? People seriously need to get a grip of themselves and wake up.. to some people this sort of thing is really not funny. I like to think to myself that it's young children doing it because if grown adults carry on like this then God help them.

I personally just find it annoying when people go around trying to crash into you and ruin your sets.
Its annoying to see the same skyline or whatever awd cars are being used and you assume that they will be drifting and they just slide then straighten right out into the back of your car.

most of those ive seen online doesnt even drift they are sliding out of the corner.
saying that they are better ''drifters'' because they drive faster around the track.
wannabe's...

I saw some idiot with an X1 last night in tsukuba. Seriously annoying as its so gas it pops out of nowhere and he was all over the place in the corners and shooting off the track etc.

There was a civic too in one but think he was just driving around watching people drift and wasn't really causing any problems.

Wish people wouldnt run a mile when you try to tandem with them though.

I don't mind awd cars if they are setup properly and are driven well. I had a great session with a guy on Autmn Ring using a nice R33 GT-R last weekend while I was using my HKS S15. If a awd car isn't setup well or poorly driven it's just a nuisance though as they keep straightening in corners an flying off the track with understeer and then barge past you on the straights or drive into you out if corners as they have more traction.

I agree, It's stupid to generalize that all the annoying guys on drift servers are using AWD...
I don't mind guys in AWD if they can drift well, obey the laws of the server and don't think there the best drifter ever :P (Oh and they have to use 10:90 aswell)

The only thing i dont want in a drift lobby that i create is people who come to annoy you.

In my lobby's you can "drift" anything and any direction you want; as long as you dont smash into people for the hell of it.. its okay if you hit someone by accident; i do that lots of times..

Drift crashes will happen.. if I hit someone by accident I usually type in "Sorry". But another thing is people waiting on the side of the track or in the grass and just as you get some good momentum going with a kick butt drift, some fool pops out and bashes you off course. Unfortunately PD can't really do anything about this. That's the most annoying part. Unless they monitor the idiots out there and ban them.. that would be nice.

My R33 GT-R fully drift... I only got it because I could change the wheels to look like my real car. I dont use it much though.. dont liek the feel of it.

PS

There is no such thing as drift racing.

I dont mind 4wd drifters, i just think there mainly Ken Block wannabes , but the thing that annoys me the most is when people base there drift skills on using a 4wd car , its not drifting its more controlled and much easier . All major drift competitions only allow rwd cars as thats what drift cars are , 4wd is mainly used for rallying (Which isnt drifting). Sorry for my little rant but 4wd drifters do get my goat a little bit ;)

Isnt that called touge or somethin?

No, there is no such thing as drift racing. You couldn't drift race in a touge because in most cases, there isn't any room to pass without endangering other people or their cars. Initial D was fiction.

A few friends can get together and do it on a track for fun though.

 if you think 4wd drifting is fun try doing donuts in the Nissan GT-R R35 full tuned and oil changed with 860 hp. Just looks hilarious spinning round n round as opposed to the normal rear drive donuts.

We have a pretty good group of us that drift on a nightly basis, I get very irritated by non-drifters and people driving the wrong way. Generally I create my own server for 8 - 10 players and then ruthlessly kick anyone who is clearly not even making an effort to drift sensibly and consideratly.

It would be nice if i could kick people without having to go out to the garage first however.

Touge "pass" is Japanese word common use is in the form of "mountain pass"

Its just improper to call it Drift Racing..... it's not a race.

Are you really sure about that sir??

I like to use a 4wd SUV and the reason why I drift with it is because it requires much more skill IMO. I could just use my Mustang if I really wanted but I know I wouldn't have that sense of acomplishment if I used it.
When I do a full lap of drifting with no errors I'm like "Hell Yeah!" lol.

Not all people who use 4wd cars in drift lobbies mess about. I've seen plenty of others who are actually serious and drifting really good.

Touge and drifting are two completely different things, touge isnt even a form of racing its as previously said the japanese term for a mountain pass. People do race on the mountain and they drift as well. And people do pass on the mountain, depending on what rules your going by if you get passed its normally a automatic loss as they run in two stages uphill and downhill. Theres a lead car and a car that follows, and they switch out position when the next stage begins. If the following car passes or maintains distance fairly close to the lead or pass the lead car they win however if the lead losses the following car by increasing distance they win. Sorry for the wall of text i just figured id clear it up. And as for 4wd drifting personally i dont have a problem with it aslong as they are respectful and dont smash into you because your going slower around a corner.
