Why can't we get real time weather?

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 (and possibly 2011, I haven't checked) has real time weather for golf courses. I'd love to see real time weather and time of day for the courses here in Gran Turismo.

Given the beautiful time of day changes available in Gran Turismo, the fabulous night driving and the nice weather it seems like it'd be easy enough to implement a real time weather option for the race courses.

I'd love to race the Nürburgring at the same time as, for example, the 24 Hours Nürburgring and experience the same weather and time effects as the racers would be having at that time.

I wonder why we didn't get it.

It's probably a little harder than it seems. Good idea though.
 
^ That feature is already in Microsoft Flight Sim, which maps the whole world. Shouldn't be too hard if the real tracks have weather stations.
 
For time trial only? Or for races across the board, a-spec, b-spec, arcade and online? I would like it just for time trial, and or have an option to swithc it on/off. Why they don't implement it? Too much focus on fixing glitches, upgrading premium cars, and maybe working on new physics engine for GT6. Who knows.
 
Would be nice also to have the options to set specific time of day and rate of timelapse /weather in arcade /practice mode. I never understood why this level of specificity is only present in online rooms.
 
I guess I wouldn't like that! I had to spend sunny days at home because I don't like driving in the rain that much...
 
It would be nice to have, theres so many different things to improve the game, PD would need to employ a lot more people to get it all done, which obviously on the money side of things wouldnt work. Shame.
 
That's a lot of work for a bit of novelty. Wouldn't you rather they do something more meaningful like add cars or tracks or even work on the next gt game?
 
Although it would be a cool feature, I don't think it would really add anything to the game. If they introduced this feature they would have to give you the option to turn it off, otherwise you would have practice sessions and online races ruined by unwanted rain. It would rarely be used for anything more than a novelty, so I don't think it's needed :)
 
Cause some people want to actually race in the rain, and not have to wait for the real-life counter-part to start raining.
