Why did PD wait to inform us about the update? One main reason comes to my head, and really frustrates me. Simply put, to make more sales, primarily from those of us who have already purchased the Japanese version of the Game. I have no numbers or any other imformation, just speculation, but it seems this is a likely reason. I suspect many people, in fear of not getting an update, preorderd, reserved, or already purchased the EU version.

What reasoning does PD have waiting till the right before the EU release date to tell us about the update? It's not like they decided last minute, "Well, i guess we should give those people who have already purchaced the game the update." and then quickly put together a update and finished it just in time for the EU release.

Maybe PD had nothing to do with releasing info about the update, perhaps it was Sony, I'm really not sure.

I also understand that this happens with almost any product us consumers purchace. For example when you purchace a DVD, everyone knows that a few months down the road a new one with special features is released, but that doesn't mean i have to like it.

Please don't comment how PD really takes pride in their work, and they really care about cars. I know this, and that is why i buy their video games. I am just a little ticked off about this, and want to hear other's opinions about this, and if you can change my mind on this subject, cool.

Also, sorry if their reasoning was explained, or someone has already brought this up, if so, please ignore or lock this thread.

I think it's from sony's end, ultimately, they're the one who decides who gets what :O
It seemed like a logical choice for everyone to have the same game so, I'm just glad it went this way :)

Of course it was for monetary reasons. But really I don't see why it matters. Personally I would have purchased the English version of the game anyway to have it in english. Also you could have just sold your game on ebay about a fortnight before the European version was released and gotten the money you spent back (which is exactly what I did). So effectively it costed nothing to change to the English version.

I'm glad it went this way also, but i just dont understand why they didn't inform us about the update until recently. Hell im still mad about not getting an update yet, i got the Asian/HK version :)

Well they could have waited until the US release and got even more sales.

Didn't matter to me anyway, I still would have bought the PAL edition aswell.

The JPN prologue is suppose to be for sale in Japan only. The oversea sale of this version is probably 0.01% of the total sale. I don't think PD/SONY deliberately withhold anything so they can sway the 0.01% of current oversea JPN version owner to buy the local version.

Saying its about money seems illogical. Anyway since when has PD kept us informed about anything?

Of course it doesn't matter to those who are planning purchase the pal version anyways, but the only way i will is if i don't get the update. I thought about it a little more and the money reasons do kinda sound a little illogical, they prolly wouldn't make too much extra by withholding imformation, although they will make some:).

Anyways i was just going on a little rant and wanted to see if anyone else agreed, obviously not. I will now go sit in the corner by myself and cry :(... :)

Are you aware of just how much trouble Sony went to in order to prevent Japanese-market games being sold outside Japan?

If not, look up Lik-Sang.

Just read about that , and it seems to have more to do with the PSP being sold to other regions and going against safety standards. In my last comment i stated after thinking about it money reasons didn't sound too likely.
