Why did this happen?

This was an SR S race, I have never seen this happen before. Me driving the Corvette and hoping to pass the orange Subaru but he moved in the same direction as I did as I was attempting to pass and I was about to soil my pants expecting to smash him in the back but instead I ghosted and started to go through him so I put my foot back on the throttle and kept going, I bet the Subaru driver was scratching his head at that one too. When I realized what happened, I couldn't stop laughing and I watched the replay after and kept laughing still wondering how or why it happened.

Man I would be so upset if I was the Subaru lol... Can I just add also that this track is like an SR killer in Sport Mode with the way people drive and no run off space :nervous:

Oh the opposite, on this track it was some of the cleanest racing I've had since I got this game, except the 16th place trying to block everyone but karma came back down on him anyways. I can make a video of that part.
 
What is your DR if you don't mind me asking? As that isn't supposed to happen further up the DR ratings. I have been in the subarus position before, having people just ghost through me. Only seen it on Northern Aisle though.
 
I've had that happen to me. The first time was weird, the second or third I was p.o.-ed.
 
I've noticed this happening more often now after the last two updates.
 
The ghosting algorithm has always been very good, even since GT5. He weaved to block you and the algorithm said “nah mate”.
 
I'm sure that more than a couple of times someone thought I was weaving to block them when I was trying to let them through. You know like when you're walking towards someone on the pavement and you both keep moving the same way.
 
To me, something remotely similar only on Northern Isle.
