Nope we won't go there. 'They' get upset.
But the best soldier in the world is supposed to be an English squaddie with American weapons....

A skint?
I think "skint" is slang for tapped out, broke, out of money, lacking disposable income.

Yep we are big whingers all right... We just whinged at everyone and they gave up...

Is that like whining?

Yep!

Bloody Crim's and wasters the lot of you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huh?

Crim = Criminal. Britain used to (decades ago) send it's criminals to Australia, it was called 'deportation' specifically Botany Bay. It used to wind Aussies up to remind then that great granddad was a "crim" Now it's just a harmless poke in the ribs. I don't think they mind anymore, probably bored with it all by now and laugh at as berks for dragging it all up again

...every bloody Aussie i meet over here is always skint...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A skint?

skint = no cash. Most Aussies that end up in London are "backpackers" and are going walkabout which is their term for going on holiday for a few years. Quite often London is the last stop on the way home (visit the old country) and when they get here they normally end up living in squats and house shares with little or no money which they normally only tell you about when it's their round

...when the Septic's get here...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Septic? Like sewage?

yep! Septic tank = Yank = American. It's called cockney rhyming slang. We (Londoners) use it a fair bit and some of it has made it's way in to everyday language. You shouldn't be offended, it's a term of endearment, somebody went to a fair bit of trouble to work it out. If we don't like you we just ignore you

Not at all, it's just we have greater exposure to your slang terms courtesy of Hollywood and all the sit-coms you send us.

Hello? (that's, like a joke dude!)

We don't get your obsession with irony either. Still, US humor does suck big time.

Oh, and trust me, no Yankee is intimidated by a Brit. Now an Aussie, well, we know they're tough, cause we know Dundee represents everyone. Tv never misleads.

About cricket, is it worth learning about?

We get that crap already .

And we're not obsessed with ironing, I personally hate it :thatsodd: :p

As for cricket

.......... yeah you might like it T ! :p ;)

Not at all, going on the number of Friends videos i own (err Bird owns.... ahem!) and the obsession here with that sit-com i would say that your humour is fine. Frazier is pretty good and I am currently immersing myself in re runs of MASH.

You've not met Vinny Jones then?

And yes please, learn about Cricket, should keep you out of trouble for a while.... Let me know when you know what a "silly mid on" is. But watch out for the googlies!

I have a question for the Brits. Do you guys watch/like these shows?

Are You Being Served?
Keeping Up Appearances.
Faulty Towers.
Benny Hill.
Absolutely Fabulous.

And lastly (I seperate because it's on another level: pure genius) Monty Python. God I love Monty Python.

And I love ironic humor in general. American two dimensional humor bores me to tears. There is nothing funny about falling down, rude insluts (well sometimes :p ), or some rich, winging punk's sex foibles

Are You Being Served? ---- Not seen it in ages--- not too fond of it
Keeping Up Appearances. --- Remind me of this one, can't place it?
Faulty Towers. --- Bloody marvelous. I think my favourite is "The Rat"
Benny Hill. --- Yeah love slapstick humour. --- The fastest milkman in the west!
Absolutely Fabulous. --- I cringe on this one but yeah it's funny as hell.

Most of the above end up on cable, UK Gold and the like, and you can buy them on DVD and video. But there's better about, like Red Dwarf, 2.4 Children, The Goode Life, The Goodies, Only Fools and Horses.......

But Python, in a couple of hundred years times they will be regarded like Shakespeare. ...... Bird used to live next door to one of em, Terry Jones i think.

Have watched all of them, non of which are funny at all really , except for Monty Python of course

We have much better shows than them you listed ....

Red dwarf ( love it! :D )
Only fools and horses (classic)
steptoe and son
one foot in the grave ( before it got crap)
game on

We have/did a lot of 'camp' comedy too! like.. are you being served, gimme gimme gimme, The Graham Norton show, Kenny Everet whatever else there is,....... and of course the classic Carry On ....... films  I do like the 'camp' humour :D

Red Dwarf and Grahm Norton are on BBC America. Haven't really seen either much.

I used to watch Are You Being Served every night when I didn't have cable or satelite and all that came in very well was PBS. Not good. Not bad. *shrug*

I always get the feeling from BBC America that they are portryaing British pop culture in the way they think Americans want to perceive it.

My wife is hooked on Ground Force and Changing Rooms.

Keeping Up Appearances.

Ugh, thats like the worst comedy ever.

You know its the bucket woman!

If there is one comedy that you should get to see over in the us in my opinion, it would have to be My Family. Funny as hell, like all the other comedies you mentioned (barring keeping up appearances).
