This is just for my information (call it research if you will) but I'm interested in opinions on why you like or dislike mods.

I'm only interested in opinions about chassis swaps and such. This is not a pro/con argument. I'm not hoping to convert anyone in either direction. I'm simply interested in the opinions.

My two cents - I like it because I get to build something unique to the specifications of the PP regulations and I get to use cars/parts that are under utilized in the "natural" game.

Well, I've never "hacked" the game, but I have opinions on it, for both sides.

Likes:
Well, since in real life we can do certain things which is similar. So Engine swaps etc. That gives it a sense of realism in the game, and since GT is the Real Driving Simulator, this appeals to me. I personally would love to go and make a Herbie by sticking 250-300bhp in the back of a '66 Bug. But this leads me onto the cons...

Dislikes:
People just take the biscuit at times, create very silly and unrealistic cars. And most of the time these are people who have no concept of driving said cars in any capacity. And this really detered from the spirit of the game and ruined it. Me making Herbie would probably be fine. But if I was to stick a Veyron engine in the Bug, it would be completely ridiculous and that is where the problem stems. There is a limit to what can be done. Even Herbie is an extreme, but it's just a bit of fun from a film. I wouldn't ever take that into a serious race, had I done that.

That's my opinions on why I both like and dislike mods.
