Why do you Play Gran Turismo?

Gran Turismo really is the most unique racing game in history. Everything previously posted in this thread is true for me. It has an aura, an atmosphere about it, which is different from every other game because of this:

Each game is like a gift from Kazunori Yamauchi. His love of cars has infected the people of Polyphony Digital, and it shows in every aspect of it. What other game is modeled down to the lettering on the headlamps? This attention to detail and care to produce a living work of art is why I love it most of all.

Am I a fanboy? You bet, and I'm in some pretty good company. :D
 
I love the realism of this game.
I am inspired by racing drivers/riders that can push a car/bike to it's limit around a race track, hearing the engine noise of touring cars, F1 and MotoGP makes the hairs on my neck stand up and I do get excited

I like the driving mot of all, and the variety of cars available all displaying their unique qualities. As well as the brilliant assortment of courses. IMO no other driving game simulates a real racing experience as accurately as the GT series does.
 
Haha, talk about posting for the sake of it. Maybe for the obvious reason that I enjoy playing games, especially driving/racing games?
 
Like BIG ROCK i first played GT2 on ps1. It was on 1999 playstation demo called "best driving games ever" it was white cd and had balck bold font.
Dont know if anyone has ever come across that demo?

I was 8 years old and tho there were games on the demo particularly aimed at people my age at the time(Crash team racing speed freaks) i enjoyed the more sensible one the most Which was GT
It taught me how cars actauly move when going fast and that braking is actauly necessary, before i knew it i was leading the pack.

And i agree with the earlier coment about GT almost like having some kinda aura. There somehting about GT i dont know what it is, i coulda chose to go with TOCA or The 2 rally games that were on there instead (cant remember the names) but GT stole my heart instead :)

i play it because of the amazing graphics and physics, and i just like nice cars 👍
 
I honestly dont get a feeling like i do with GT5P or GT4 playing other racing games, i just feel the rush of blood to my head, the fast beating heart and slow breathing of complete immersion in the game, i have only felt a better feeling driving real single seaters round a real race track. I love the graphics soooo much i couldnt actually believe my eyes first time i played the Japanese import version of GT5p. I cant wait for GT5 to finally be released. I will admit that it is nothing like driving real cars as nothing can simulate that as you cant feel the physics on your body so know when you are on the edge and the car is about to give up and slide, but it is by far the closest feeling you can get.
