Why does GT seem to be random with qualifying?

GT: Qualify

GT2: No Qualify

GT3: Qualify

GT4: No Qualify..

GT5: Well, pattern breaks here with no qualify..

Is there a logical reason for this?

hm. One thing I always wished though was that if you made it in lets say 5th place on the last race, you would start in 5th on the next. Or depending on where your ranking is during the championship.

There was something called "Practice" before a race in a Championship.
Set the fastest lap time, then quit so the AI can't get a chance.
You immediately start on Pole

I actually enjoyed starting last in Prologue. It made it more fun putting together a clean lap passing 15 cars. Now, it's pretty much pointless putting any cars behind yours because you barely ever get to see them. Having the option to qualify though would be a nice addition for the championship races.

We should be place on the grid with the kg/hp ratio in a reverse pole style, the vehicule with higher ratio being first
10kg/hp 1st - 1kg/hp last

I think it is because PD would find it to hard to make certain events challenging enough considering all qualifying permutations

For the PD events I have no problem that they can decide where you start a race.

For online hosting it would be nice if they also through in "random start positions"

offline for Arcade or GT life practice one make it would be cool to allow the user to choose:
"Random"
"or pick the start position"
(games >5+ years old have such features and more!)

It would be cool to allow the user to choose "Random Starting Position" or "Fixed Starting Position" offline in Arcade, GT life practice, or GT Life One Make races.
(games 5 or more years old have such features and more!)

So many spelling and grammar errors. Fixed them.

I do agree that this would be a nice feature to add to the game. I am kind of tired of starting in a position based on this formula:
("# of cars in race"/2)+1=Starting Position.
