Why does MS/T10 hate data and replays?

Sorry for the inflamatory title. Just wondering how to back up data for Forza or if you can? Won't allow me to duplicate or copy to another location. Only choice is to move the file. What happens if I lose my save file or the USB stick it is on? Does Microsoft have my back another way? Is this my equipment or what?

I also can not access replays anymore when using the stick? Whatever I guess, but I also can not view replays when playing off the internal 4 Gigs anymore either.
Is that a glitch or what?

You can upload them to the cloud if you have Gold.

You could also try moving it to a USB thumb stick, then copying the file onto a PC.
