Why does my TV show black screen?

Thing is, I got a new mic, and it got installed to the PS3 and the TV... I was fully able to play with the console yesterday, but now that I tried, there was nothing, only a black screen that showed up. I tried taking off all the cables, but no, it's useless.

I have a 4-hour time limit right now before my GT5 race starts, so please answer quickly...

Now it sort of works, but it's now in HDMI 2 instead of AV2 (if that clarifies at all) but the screen is all messed up, it's too big while the details (like the screen at the top that says how many friends are online) are way too small...

Reset your PS3 by holding the power button down for 4 seconds.

That fixes PS3 issues.

But I don't know what to do if it is the TV itself.

With this messed up screen, the XMB is really weird and the top right part where the notifications come is really small... also I can't even zoom in at the GT5 menus anymore...

When you connect a PS3 by HDMI, it sets all the video options automatically, because any HDMI connection is going to be 16:9 and HD-capable. Once you're in HD, the zoom in GT5 is disabled as unnecessary.

That's kind of annoying, I sometimes have trouble figuring out some smaller print...

Oh and while racing, the chat and driver list are also annoyingly small. I would love to find a fix for it :)

Sorry for double posting, but I wonder, can I revert things back to normal by getting all the HDMI stuff out of the PS3?

Yes Carbonox, turn the ps3 off, turn it back on by holding the on switch down until it beeps(5 seconds I believe). If that is what you are asking.

You have to unhook the HDMI and use component, S-video, or composite. If HDMI is connected, it finds it and uses it, I believe.

How big is the TV? A small set in HD would be kinda hard to read some of the stuff.

It's a pretty big HDTV (not as big as my parents' though) but I can say that the screen was way better and more balanced without HDMI, so I'll definitely discard that feature as soon as possible...

What? This doesn't make sense. lol
You are either sitting way to far away from your TV, or you need to calibrate it a bit. HDMI is the best input you could use nowadays.

Well, I don't like it when I can't use zoom in GT5, yet the chat for instance is way too small to see a thing.
