Why does the loading bar have Absolutely no bearing on how long it takes to load?

I just noticed that my Loading bar was only to about 20% before the race was actually loaded. Whats the point? Why even include such a feature, if it doesnt really work? Id rather just have that extra .1% of processor power to make it load faster.

They never do anything anywhere. It's just there to tell the user that the program is doing something, so it's purely a psychological tool. :)

I have read that in most of the lifts that have door closing button it actually doesn't do anything. It's there just to make the user feel better and in control... :)

Absolutely right!

Haha by the way imgine if it had a real time bar during the initial install!! Remember the "3 seconds to go" was actually like half an hour.

It actually tells you how well your connection to the host is.
The more full the bar is, the better your connection.
If you're the host, the bar will be full.

This is in an online lobby when a track is loading or whatever.
I'm not sure about the actual loading screen in between races...

PD must have borrowed the patented progress bar from Microsoft

It's to tell you if your system is having problems. Mine loads all the way and freezes when it attempts to load Nurburgring :(
