Just wondering why this game does not have blue flags to be honest, its vital in racing that a backmarker move ASIDE when top dogs are fighting for position, had a race ruined by being chased for 1st place and a backmarker kept trying to block me. Not OK

It seemed to me that if youre good enough to get to lap people, you'll usually be fast enough to overtake them anyway...

That might be the case, but as i said, if your battling it out with 2nd place man, and a car gets in the way and refuses to move over, its a gamebreaker. Not to mention in longer endurance races where pace is vital.

Pits are broke anyway. No need to do endurance races.

But racing element isn't fully representative of what actual races are like though is it?

No, not at all. Rubber banding, no qualifying, no spec limits, etc.
Blue flags wouldn't have hurt though.

Never mind having blue flags I needed quite a few more than that last night, should probably have even had an ambulance for my driver too. I was in 1st place, 2nd place fish tailed me and I ended up sideways, then every other car tried to drive through me. :scared:

There are no red, yellow, green, black, black-and-orange, black-and-white or red-and-yellow flags in the game, so why would there be blue flags? And more importantly, how would the implementation of blue flags work? You could wave a flag at a backmarker as much as you like, but if they don't want to move over, they won't. And there's not much you'll be able to do to stop it.

So man up and pass them under your own power.

In b-spec thats not as easy ;) Stop trying to ignore the serious flaws of this game with poor workarounds.

The entire point of B-Spec is to build your driver up. They start out green and you're meant to nurture them over the course ofa carerr. The more experience they get, the better they'll be.

Stop trying to present non-solutions as valid alternatives. Because when you think about it, passing a backmarker under your own power is much easier and much more realistic and much more effective than showing a player a blue flag and expecting them to move over. Unless you want to give them a five-second speed-limiter penalty like the one in rally mode in GT4 - but that would only deny them the right to race for position themselves (ie, you come up to two backmarkers fighting it out; one moves over to let you through, but the other does not ... a penalty is only going to hurt them).

Their pride is hurt enough when the split time becomes a full lap, and you want to wave a blue flag in their face to reinstate how terrible they are. Wow you are heartless.

Okay, I think this has gone far enough. I'm going to close the thread before we spiral downwards into the realm of discussing one another.
