as per title, sorry if it has been asked already.

Also, I wish to complement PD on engine & transmission sounds; Only when REplay camera is high atop the roof, too bad we don't hear these tones in actual race, not even on a 10.2 sound system.

10.2? What ? How would that even work?

It works, no problem with that.

But come on, really..

10.2 -10 is the number of speaker, 2 is the subwoofers. You get a front centre speaker, and two front "inside" left & right (close to centre) and two front "outside" left & right and repeat that pattern for the rear to get your 10 speakers, put a sub up front and one at the back and you have your 10.2.

Basically, unless you are in a room the size of a theatre, it is a freakin waste, unless you like speakers touching your ears while you race.

I can't remember but I think when you save a replay from Arcade Mode single player, it has an in-car view. It has two angles, one looking at the driver (on passenger seat) showing and angle view of window, driver, and windshield. I can't remember the other one.

I could be mistaking this for the data logger. Its been a while since I've used these features.

Are you trying to see from the car you drove?
In a game that rhymes with Gorza, you can only view the replay from cockpit in the car you drove.
If a Chum sends a replay you can view his cockpit but no other.

A bit odd I know. Maybe GT is the same. I see no reason for it to be like this but there must be a limiting factor somewhere.

I didn't realise that we had surpassed 7.1 Surround. Honestly, I don't get why anyone would buy anything beyond 5.1. Few movies, and pretty much no games are made to support 7.1, so what's the point? I mean, where do you really get the use out of the side speakers?

I don't know about any of you, but I love listening to individual drops of water from each speaker

That can't be good for your speakers. I suggest drying your speakers off before you mess them up.

10.2 is nothing, the next proposed spec of video after 'HDTV', UHDTV is proposing 22.2 channel audio.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/22.2_surround_sound

So let me get this straight. The 22.2 surround is purely for regular TV, and not movies/games? Don't see the point. Not to mention that I doubt many TV makers would bother making such complex sound design. I don't know a whole lot about sound design, but as far as I know, they have to make sound for each channel(speaker) right?

Turned into a speaker discussion thread. Now, we all say 10.2 speakers are a waste, but in the future, we'll all probably be like, "22.4 speakers? Why do we need that when we have 10.2?"

GT5 can ONLY max out to 7.1, not sure why you are trying to outdo a sound system setup that's lower........
