This site contains members from all over the world an we are all in different time zones. So if we plan to race together this can be difficult for some of the members to be at the track on time. Then how can we adjust our wathes to not to miss the race.
I have an idea, i dont know if it is nice or not but at least i got one.

According to time zones only the hours differ. So minutes should be the same.

This is the universal time zones chart. If you dont know your time zone you can find it from here and all you have to do is to equal your minutes to the time of this site.

For example. If my time zone is GMT +1. Then if my clock shows 02:14 PM now and the site sayz its 03:07. I adjusted it ot 02:07PM then now my minute digit is equal to sites.
If someone who has done that adjustment plans to arrange a race night, all he has to say is his time zone and the planned time of the race.
If he sayz race will start at 08:00PM GMT -4 than we will easily know that it will start at 01:00AM GMT +1. So we wont miss a minute and be there on the exact time and have more chance to race together.

I will do that. If you have a better idea please let us know...

Isnt this the way its always been done already??? Dont want to burst your bubble, but the clock in the game itself at the menu screen is the same for everyone... Minute-wise I mean... all I do if I want to race someone is look at the clock in the GT menu when youre online before a race and give a set of minutes a couple of minutes in advance to the other player... and presto!! Whoever I want to race is in the race with me....

unfortunately, the minutes also vary within the time zones, not just the hours.
throw in solar time and half hour shifts (like central Australia, I believe), and it complicates things even more.

For those of you who use any widget engines (eg. Yahoo! Widgets, Google Desktop, Dashboard), I suggest downloading a time zone widget just to make keeping track of timezones a whole lot easier. I know there's one available to download for Yahoo! Widgets, I'm not sure about any other programs.

1) There are in fact timezones that are on the half-hour or 15 minute shift. (utc+4:30 for example)
2) UTC does not incorporate daylight savings time which can differ from zone to zone

Im not sure if they still market / use it anymore, but you might want to check out Swatch' internet time (@beat) which is designed to overcome these timezone problems.
Still, its not THAT hard is it? If all fails though, there are plenty of timezone converters online to help you out.

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at here.

For the everyday online racing then the clock at the top of the Prologue screen is fine for the vast majority. (There are very few places that have a half hour time difference.)

For organised events that have a specific finishing time, see below. The well arranged events all include a specific finish time, and a link to a world clock so everyone can work out the finish time in their part of the world.

SCHEDULE
All races finish at 10:00am - GMT - Please make sure that you check your local time to avoid a DNF.
Here is a link to The World Clock that I use.

If you are taking part in an event that has a specific starting time, or finishing time, then it is up to you to check and see when that time is for you. There are numerous websites that can help you in this regard.
