One word, Freedom. In forza you can not only perform engine swaps but you can also perform LS1 and 2JZ swaps into most cars, GT is just sitting back with more than likely no plans to implement this, I have played GT since the PS1 days but honestly if they do not add this feature into GT7 on PS4 and really just step it up in general I will leave the series. It is ridiculous that they allow the new comer to surpass them in innovation. I still don't see how GT6 has the same old engine sounds and hardly changed tire sounds.

You're on the wrong planet though.

Go back the way you came, turn right then left at the roundabout and Forza Planet is the 3rd on the right 👍.

This isn't anything new to us, we know GT has flaws, but so does Forza.

Forza was ahead with FM2/3/4. It will be again with 6 unless GT7 pulls out something we're not expecting.

With that said I bought a PS4 with high hopes for GT7, however I should learn my lesson right? I was disappointed with 5 for the standard cars and 6 for really not changing anything important, other than some physics which are still not on par with games like Pcars or Iracing which have much smaller budgets. You know Nurburgthing, you can post pictures like that like every other 12 year old in response or you could realize that in Forza you can build a car that looks just like your avatar, where as there is no MK2 Golf in GT6 nor the modification options available to build such a car if there where.

Granted Forza has some nice features but the fact you can now cross engine swap and make every car AWD is just lame. It causes mass imperfections in regards to cars being equal. I really hated seeing multiple classes being over run with the same car.... IE the Chevy Spark in 3 different classes. It makes for only a few cars being effective for racing...... I am glad GT keeps it some what real in this respect.
Now if only they could fix their PP system.... I mean adding a full custom tranny and a LSD obviously in my mind make a care better than one all stock but some how it has no reflection on PP.....
Not in sales it isn't.
The only thing that matters to the company...... Sadly:(

Not too fussed about what cars are and aren't in this game and that. I've played a bit of Forza and thought it felt wrong, what the hell has time travelling got to do with competitive racing?

And, I wish I was 12 again, that was 2+ decades ago.

When the modding era was here, we had a glimpse of what is possible within GT regarding chassis and engine swaps. Our time will come, patience grasshopper.

That one example you provided sure proved your point.

It also depends on your definition of 'Freedom', Forza provides it because of what you are saying, and also it's artistic freedom in terms of the livery editor, but if by 'Freedom' you mean in a complete form, you are far off the mark.

Forza 4's career mode was the only part of the game that let me down, because of how linear it is. Even GT6's career mode isn't as linear as choosing between 3 or 4 races to progress.

Budgets have very little to do with it when you compare PC games to a last-gen console game - and you sound like you were expecting more innovation on a game still launching on a seven year old system?

I have a hard time believing it was a console limitation, lets not even get into the fact that it should have been a ps4 launch title and not a finale for ps3. Considering engine swaps have been in the forza series for a long time on Xbox 360 it is not a hardware limitation. For those posting about physics in forza being off etc. I agree but that is not what I am posting about. I want freedom, to say it is unrealistic to have an LS1 swap in a miata is asinine those swaps are common in real life, I agree many of the drivetrain swaps may be overboard but then again the only limitation in real life is funding and know how and that in my opinion is how it should be in the virtual world. Linking me to the forza section does me or the community no good, I would prefer that the GT series step it up and once again claim the top seat for ingenuity. I have been a huge GT fanboy but I can no longer make that claim because of a complete lack of innovation in the series. Newer fans thing nitrous is new, truth is they just added back something they had many years ago.

I an very happy with the udgrades you can proform in GT6. I like my cars stock.

Engine swap is just stupid, so is going from rwd to awd and the livery thing is a waste of time.
