Why would someone go out of the way to spend 300 dollars on a third rate portable....
IT's an overpriced 50 Mp3 player with a crappy LCD Screen, with 50 Dollar PSX Graphics, A sound system that is embaressing. Game gear kicked it's ass...

Now ALL Movies on DVD will be availible for PSP...What is this world coming to?
 
It's pretty stupid I never liked this handheld. Nothing will compare to the gba. Even if it does have sad graphics it was fun as hell and still is.
 
The system itself is actually closer to $180, but in the U.S., it is "bundle"ized. If Nintendo DS is $150, I don't think PSP is a bad deal at $180.

Sorry to hear that some here don't like the PSP. :( But its ok since we all like different things.

However, I don't look at the PSP as a true gaming portable due to all the other extra things loaded onto it. I mainly use its multimedia features to keep me entertained during times when I have to wait for something.

Using the PSP Video 9 program, I can convert and transfer my favorite car music video onto my PSP and watch it whenever I want to! :embarrassed:

Also, I recommend not to listen to music and watch videos WITHOUT headphones because the PSP's sound from the speakers are horrible in my opinion. It sounds WAYYY better when you use the PSP's ear plug or another headphone.

No, you just want to get laid.

I would like to see some facts on how the LCD is "crappy" or how a ten year old hand held system "kicks it's (the PSP) ass".

I actually own a PSP and I can tell you the LCD looks great. The 16:9 ratio is a great feature, I can convert any of my widescreen DVDs to MPEG4 and watch them on my PSP. The screen is extremely sharp while displaying games with little ghosting.

The PSP graphics are near PS2 quality with games like Wipeout Pure and Ridge Racer proving it. I'm still surprised by the reflections and particle effects the PSP can pull off in Wipeout.

MP3 playback is great which is only limited by the size of your storage space. With a good pair of headphones, the sound quality is on par with hard disk players and most definitely beat flash based players like the iPod Shuffle. I'm glad I didn't buy an iPod. The PSP is more versatile and, in my opinion, more cool than an iPod can ever be.

If I was you, I would limit my criticism until you actually own one or play tested one in a retail store.
 
If the PSP's graphics are near PS2..Then that just says that PS2's graphics must be crap. Because they arn't that good...

Yes you can convert your favorite blah blah video to blah format......

It's all Nerdery, complete and utter nerdery....
I thought nerds had computers, and they're getting gouged with PC part prices.. Now they're getting gouged with gay Peripheral devices?.....

Ok...so 1 it ghosts...crapshoot #1...
2 if you have the ability to convert widescreen DVD's or MPEg4's to the format, that means you have a PC...if you have a PC...Why in GODS green earth would you watch it on your gay ass LCD?

MP3 playback is GREAT...however, it's better on A MP3 player, for less money, more portability, and come with a better set of headphones.
The handhealds NON headphone sounds are crap...if not crap on wheels....

I don't own one.. I never plan on it....I think it's a extremely retarded idea. But I have played NFS on it, as well as Metal Gear...Both of which played horribly, and sounded twice as bad.

No maybe the GBA's GRAPHICS arn't as good, but the again the GBA kept it to 2D games, so they didn't have to be advanced to be good.
The PSP tries to pull off graphics it can't produce.... Why would anyone spend money on a Portable PSX? IF the PS2 is out and all next gen consoles are on the way, why would ANYONE take 3 steps backwards, pay More money for portability...

Oh and don't forget, you have got to buy flash memory too.....pocket change.. sony just hates people.....And People don't realize it..
 
I'm not sure this is really the best place to do this – this is like jumping into the "Need for Speed" forum (yes, we actually have one of those) and saying how much NFS sucks, or jumping into the Hybrids & Gameshark forum and saying how bad "cheating" is.

Makes for heated and overtly subjective arguments.
 
Especially when you throw around inapprpriate language like "gay ass" as applies to an inanimate object.

Don't like it? Don't buy one. Vote with your wallet. That's all that counts.
