What is up with this forum? No matter how mad I get, I can't stop coming to this forum. :ouch: I tried to take a break, but that is nearly impossible for me. I really don't know what it is that keeps bringing me mack to this site. :odd: I even play a PC Game, but then I start thinking about going to GTP. I am in serious need of help. I think I lost 20 pounds due to being on GTP and forgetting to feed myself. Anyone else is addicted to GTP as much as me? :guilty: I must say, there's some things in life that you just can't let go, and GTP is one of them. Now I see how smokers and drinkers feel about what they do.

I think the forums are laced with traced amounts of Cocaine..... I need my fix.

Its the fact that you could go to bed with a new topic, and know your going to wake up with about 5-7 great posts in it. Like Duck said, we have a great community.

I have that problem big time.

especially when im bored, i go through everything on gtp just reading and reply. The problem with that is that once i've looked through most of the topics, i have nothing to do, so all i can do is anxiously wait for someone to reply

I agree with Duck and Roo, we have such a great and diverse community here that bring alot to the table, which keeps everything fresh and interesting.

Get out of the house. Get some "real" friends. Go and hang out. That should start to fix your problem.

I know we are super cool. I know it will be tough to find people better than the guys here, but give it a shot. Anything is possible if you really try.

Hey I have real friends. :indiff: I go outside alot, and I talk to them everyday. Come on I drive a city bus when my uncle lets me. I speak to them all the time when I'm driving, and I play GT4 with them. There is just something about GTP that makes it better than any other forum I've been to...

When I go places with my friends though we are usually getting in trouble with the cops and stuff.

I was kidding a bit there. You may have to just pick who you hang out with. Find the kids you know well who aren't into getting into trouble. Take up a hobby with them. Go to sporting events. I've recently started hanging out with a kid who loves to get into trouble and I'm trying to find ways to hang out with other "better" friends.

If you really start having fun with your friends, I guarantee that your GTP addiction will be less severe. Will you still come on a lot (daily)? Sure. Will you stay on refreshing the page over and over in hopes of a reply? Probably not nearly as much.

I used to be straight-up addicted, but I didn't really have a life back then anyway. But we have quite a few people here who are actually worth a glance at their posts. Even though there are a few that aren't, The forum is still a great forum. I don't even play Gran Turismo anymore, but I stay because of the atmosphere and the time killing ability. I'm only on now it seems when I'm at work or something, but I still enjoy it and I will try and remain active. Although life seems to take away from my time killing time.

(Holy Carp, I just realized I have been active on this site for nearly 4 years without really taking a major break. Woahz)

I like the atmosphere, or at least I used to. GTP is becoming an online Gran Turismo-themed catholic church. As soon as a thread goes a bit OT, the mods are there to either tell people to stop thinking freely and stick to the topic, or just simply close the thread.

Aahh, I miss the good ol' days.

I've noticed that a bit too. The old days were great, but GTP still isn't bad.

Maybe it's because i've never been a member of any other forum but I just don't see the mods being THAT bad. I like them spanking a member or two for bad posts. Have you ever thought this is why GTP is so addictive? We don't have to weed through hundreds of posts to find good quality conversation. Hummm....best site on the net...strict guidelines....I wonder...2+2=4 💡

2+2=5. :grumpy:

JK, great post UnoMOTO!! Your post lets me know why other forums give suck an annoying time finding useful posts.

Wow...my name has been colorized in your reply. I've only seen that with one other user before.

Edit...maybe thats because hardly anyone uses color text..duh :dunce:

Because, you can get into extremely interesting and engaging "conversations" in here.
There are a lot of knowledgable, helpful people around.
There are those looking for a good argument, and that like to play "devil's advocate".
Plus, for the most part, even if our views differ, we remain friendly.
You can be who you are here. Even if you are the biggest dork on the planet, you'll be accepted for who you are.
You have to be a pretty big asshat for the community to turn against you.
And even if they do, at least one person will come to your aid and say "Hey, back off, this person is my friend, and doesn't deserve this crap!!"

I've been here for 5 years. Sometimes I lay low. Sometimes I post a bunch.
But even when my life requires me to not get online for days/weeks at a time I always find a way to get on for 5-10 minutes, even if only to see who is lurking about...

I think the good thing about this forum is that If some silly fool tries to cause a bit of a rukus, the mods step in quickly and take care, this keeps the forum lean and not over bloated with threads of garbage, plus Jordan is a great keeper of all things GTP and really pulls out the stops to make it a great board.

This place was my first foray into the world of forums and I havent joined any others that I really liked or wanted to stay and chat. After a hard days work its nice to come home and flick through the threads you visit most often to see whats been going on. I have this place set to my homepage and have since joining.
