Why the hell is a 1840hp (stage 4 turbo) escudo topping out at 282mph???? I got it turned to 10% front wheel power, dropped out the spoilers, lowered it almost to the bottom, etc. I have a Supra making 1071hp that goes 272!!! Thats only 10mph slower with about a 800hp difference. I have my gearing set wide and the rear gear is set at about 2.47. Ive hear people say they can get their escudos up tolike 300+mph. what am i doing wrong?? Thanks

lift it a little. In all of the GT series, some cars are actually slowed down by dragging the ground. Check your gear ratios. I only managed to get an escudo (bought from the dealer after I sold all of my prize cars, then did not save when I was done testing) up to 300.4 The gear ratios are tricky in gt3 because if you move your final drive, then adjust the auto settings, you get a different range for each gear. This is the biggest problem with the Escudo. For first gear you can run as low as you want. But when you are up in 5th gear, those ratios are everything. On the test course in machine test, I could get the Escudo up to 250 something before the first turn. or I could get it to topout at 290 something on the back straight (I always test without the U-turn to get an official speed.) As far as your Supra, keep in mind that the supra is a much aerodynamically cleaner car. In GT3 the programmers took aerodynamics very seriously. Notice the wind noise, drafting and the "wheelie trick" The fastest car I have personally witnessed is my friend running a store bought 300ogt (or is it GTO?) anyway it was hella fast and he has no clue on tuning a car.
When I broke 300 in the escudo, it was a fresh dealer bought model, with upgrades and oil change I read 1824 HP. I ran super slick front and rear and my gear ratios were:
I: 4.604
II:2.888
III:2.014
IV:1.485
V:1.360
VI:1.079
final:2.000
Before I set each gear, I moved the auto setting all the way to wide. This was before I found out that changing the final BEFORE changing the auto setting would give me different ratios. After I learned that, I ran until it to 298 with several different gear configurations, until it needed an oil change. Then I turned off the PS2 in disgust and went to bed.

Thanks for the info man. i figured i was gona have to mess with my ratios some more. The car isnt slammed all the way down. Its about 1/6th of the way up above slammed. Ill try out those ratios and see what i can do. Any way to keep this thing from boggin so bad below 6krpm?? If I remember in GT2 the Escudo reved up quicker then a humming bird on speed.

Try setting your escudo downforce to minimum, spring settings at max, ride height at minimum. For gearing set final drive at 2.000, set Auto setting at widest, then manually tweak each gear to maximum EXCEPT for 6th which should be set at 1.073.

I've managed 323.1mph with these settings at test course. 4 wheels on the ground. Minimize downforce, no ASM; No TCS. bottomed out the suspension, and stiffen it as much as possible. Super soft tires.

Also try doing a search for "escudo settings"

I can't help but wonder how much speed you expect with the incredible horse power. you may have already realized but high horsepower does not mean high speed.

in the escudo you can go 1000 mph+ by doing this:
set the overall gear ratio to full
final gear to 3.000
tcs and asm to 0
front downforce 0 rear downforce full
minninum height
mininum spring rate
then go to the test course turn around at the start go half way around the bend and stop the floor it get out of the at 340mph or abov and by the end of the straight you should have broken the sound barrier

I love the Escudo, it's the best car ever. Other cars are for losers.. Especially in GT2, no one can beat me when I'm in my escudo. That's really an easy game. I can beat almost any race with it. Too bad you can't enter every race with the escudo, that's only bad thing in GT2. GT3 sucks compared to GT2, they somehow went wrong with physics in this game since the escudo handles so bad. In real life The Escudo would kick any cars ass on any track, of course.

Errrrr no infact the escudo wouldnt kick any cars ass, because it was designed to race at only one track in real life Pikes Peak Hillclimb. The handling in GT2 for that car was highly unrealistic. It cant drive on the tarmac well because of the way the 4wd system is set up to apply 900+ bhp to a dirty road so I doubt anyone would bother racing it on a track in real life. The dumb thing is that its not even the fastest at pikes peak, some crazy looking toyota celica is the fastest.

Unless you were being sarcastic..........
