Like the title is saying, after a Sport race the racing number i've gotten keeps showing on my car. The only way i get rid of it is go to the livery editor en save my livery again. Then it's gone. But the strange thing is when i go the the editor, the number doens't appear.

I have kinda like the same thing in online lobby's. A racing number appears on my car while the settings say racing number is off.

Can anyone help me with this? Thank!

It stay on the car for some reason dont no why.. You can only remove it by going into livery and go back out then its gone

I got sick of this happening, I found that using the 'type 1' race number sticker in the livery fixed it.

I always use Type 1 on my liveries, but it gets changed for National or Manufacturer races and the GT League events have their own types too, like Clio Cup forcing round number stickers. I quite like that it stays on after. If a team has been in an FIA GT race then heads to a circuit for a test/practice session, they generally just leave the race numbers on until they're required to change them.

It's strange that a professional race driver like Kaz don't understand that racing numbers and helmets are personal.

Helmets, yes, but numbers are only "personal" once you get to a level where you can negotiate that. In F1 for instance, the numbers go to the teams, not the drivers. That's why if you are the team mate of a world champion, you get #2.

Not any more - drivers in F1 get to keep their number for life now, but it is a recent thing.

Even in low level club championships you can usually request a number - I've raced in a couple of different series and have always run number 41 (except when I raced at Spa when the Belgian coordinator misread my entry form and I got allocated 47 so had to amend my number on the car with a bit of tape).

Fair enough, but with 1 million people picking numbers, you're bound to get duplicates, so maybe that is what they are trying to avoid.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the numbers are pointless since there's no one trying to read your number to determine who you are. Your name is floating over you.

This is true, but it would be nice to have a preferred number option, if only for doing race photos. If nobody else in the race (of only 20 people) wants the same number, you're fine to run with it, otherwise you get incremented or an auto allocation. Obviously, every race would have someone running number 69...

A few years ago they let drivers pick their own numbers (for their entire F1 career going forward) but the #1 and #2 thing for championship winners hasn't been around for at least a decade man

That's still a thing as far as I'm aware. Most championships, at least in the UK, the winner does have the option to run #1 for the following season.

The door number in sport races is the finishing place where PD expects you to finish. It will determine your DR points up or down as it is used in the calculation.
credit to someone else in another thread who worked this out.

Back when I made my livery originally I went back and rearranged it to leave a blank space where the number goes. The only time anyone ever sees it is in a race anyway so you might as well accommodate the #.

I believe it take up the same amount of space and is placed where the #2 style number plate goes. So place that on your car when making a livery so you know your decals won't be covered up
