I Was Tryin To Look For The Best Set-up Without Using Sims Or Normal Tires So I Could Drift Alot Faster. I Dont Like To Use Sims Or Normal Tires. It Seems Like U Cant Flick Your Car Around With Them As Easily

Hey! 💡 Everyone chill out!

Drifter X.. what type of technique do you use?
(i.e. Power Oversteer, Inertia, E-brake...)

I USE E-BRAKE, CURB, POWER( VERY RARELY THOUGH, INERTIA,BRAKE , CHOKUDORI INTO THE TURN, I USE QUITE A FEW. I CAN DRIFT EVERYCAR BUT THE FD IS JUST A LIL HARDER FOR ME

yeah, thats exactly what i do. the only thing you gotta remember is not to overtune your car aka too much camber, too low, etc. Don't tune to the extreme. The FD is pretty balanced when you get it stock (RZ=276HP) so you should be able to drift it with sims. But I wanted more extended drifts so I amped it up to 400HP and semi tunned (dont overtune) the FD.

Agreed.... I also have my FD set around 400hp (390hp) on sims (due to the low torque response of the rotary), and it drifts like a dream.... As you so elloquently stated, the FD has great balance and thus doesn't require much tuning....

;)

lolz....well...i agree that the RX7 FD3s is 1 of the easiest carz....i dont like 2 use sim tyrez bcuz u dun have as much control of wat ur doin and so i have a couple of FDs and i have 1 set at 709hp....itz a lil difficult ....,and the other 1 is set at around......450...and tyres i have the sport tires in da front and normal in da rear...and my FD works jus fine.....and they rnt really taht heard 2 get sidewaz if u have the right settings....and the FC is also a GREAT DRIFT CAR......so u shud try the FC also....and keep the hp 2 around 300-400

mixing tires= Bad.. lol. Its a newb trick to make drifting easier just to let u know. I'm not saying ur bad. But ur throwing off the balance of your car, plus limiting its and your potential.. blah blah... its been said before in a million other posts.

Gabkicks
yeah, but it's a newb trick in real life also

Exactly...

Plus IRL people mix tires to save money, that's the only reason..... That is not much of an issue in Video games.....

yup. I'm thinking about buyin a FC (if i can find one) or some cheap rwd car and doin that to finally make an effort actually work on drifting. And not being stupid and trying it on mountainy roads w/ my friend's cars... i dont even have my license yet, lol :dunce: We got tons of damn near abandoned mountain roads up here in New Jersey.

I almost bought an FC a few days ago..... I decided to wait and keep searching for the ellusive 240sx......

I can get you a 240sx for $950. But be prepered:

Heavy damage to body (not a single accident, but multiple fender benders)
Automatuc (ouch!)
190,000 miles.

Still, it's up for grabs...

lol, thats another thing im afraid of: internal rust.. but i'll stop going off on a tangent now..

Actually the damage looks... fresh. And it's 1 '91 I think. It's not too sorry, and the interior isn't in too bad a shape.

But I fear the Mexican Flag next to the Nissan emblem on the decklid and the fart can muffler. Add that to the fact that it's in Edison and you'll easily understand how beat up I'm afraid it is.

what is all this stuff about sim tires

i got my 240(s13) with medium softs in the rear and super softs in the front
and i seem to drift pretty good without a break balancer on it.....actually i beat most people when i drift
im tuning a s15 and again i have super softs all the way around and i can be broken loose with a scandinavian flick and downshifting into a corner.

and in regaurds to buying a fc....unless you have some extra money lying around i wouldnt reccomend it...had one(hence the name)........blew it up
get a 240 or something to jump on the bandwagon with a miatia is also and awsome drift can cheap and a 50/50 weight distribution but kinda girlie

Yeah, that is also why I decided against the FC.... I am going to see a '91 240SX Coupe tomorrow, so wish me luck.....

I am definitely swapping in an SR20DET in the near future..... That has been the plan from the start.....

FC and a FD is the term for the Mazda Rx7
FC is the older generation of the Rx7 and the FD is the younger
