I am using the Toyota Race Car 70' and I have been struggling to complete this event for months now, i have done the first race and won it but i really cannot win the race at Monaco. What car would you lot recommend and have you got any good tunes for it?

I know that there is already a few threads that say the same thing but i don't feel that they give me a solid enough answer so i wanted to raise the question again!

...Because you has not a 2J. The Troll car.

Borrow one from some friend, and crush'em all :)

PD: Send PM if you need one to use.

For me, the Ford Mark IV '67 was the first car that I won the race with using Praiano's Tune from the Tuning Forum. The Chaparral 2J should also work. If you do not have the 2J, the Ferrari 330P4 works, as does the XJ13.

FYI, there is also a Trophy associated with this race, if you beat it using the Mark IV, 330P4, or the XJ13, against the other two.

The Toyota 7 Race Car '70 will also work. You can win one for beating Like The Wind in B-Spec mode or get one from a 1970 Birthday Ticket. The Chap 2J is available from that 1970 Ticket as well. 👍

Actually, it's because the AI HAS the 2J and the Toyota 7. ;)

To win at Cote, pass around the outside. Once they park and let you past, they're done for. A lot comes down to where they start. If you can get the fastest car to park in the hairpin on the first lap, it may never even get back to the front. First lap is key in any case, unless you have one of the rabbit cars yourself.

I did these with an RM'ed '69 Z28 Camaro.

I forgot to add to the thread that i have been using the Toyota Race Car '70
and i still cannot win! Am i seriously bad at the game or do i need a different car?

You can win with it. Use the course to your advantage though. Try and pin the opponents into the corners so they get stuck. This is the notorious problem that the 2J encounters when controlled by the AI (or B-Spec). It dives into corners and crashes, bottlenecking those behind it. Make sure that the 2J starts lower than 5th if you are using the 7.

Thanks i will try it now! What's the best place to get a reliable tune from if you know?

I've won those races with a tuned Lamborghini Countach and I had a lot of fun with it.

For the 7? I set top speed to 217 MPH with a 5/2 Brake distribution, RS tires, 1 TCS 1 ABS and the 2J starting 5th. Took the lead into the swimming pool while the 2J crashed on lap 1. I assume this is A-Spec?

EDIT: Further expounding. I won by 5.323 seconds and beat the 2J (which finished 10th) by 28.195 seconds.

Suspension:
Ride Height: F/R: -1/-1
Spring Rate: F/R: 13.8/15.8
Dampers Extension: F/R: 8/8
Dampers Compression: F/R: 8/8
Anti-Roll Bars: F/R: 6/6
Camber Angle: F/R: 1.5/1.5
Toe Angle: F/R: 0/0.

LSD
10 Torque
40 Accel
20 Braking

The car will feel a bit tail-happy in some corners (like the chicane and the swimming pool) and in others (like right after the Hairpin) won't want to make the corner without brushing the outside wall. Overall it is a very good setup.
