Why is this?

Why, when i look at the who's online feature and there is guests, how come sometimes a guest is able to either
view who's online / edit a post / look at attachments etc..?
When i'm not logged in i don't have access to any of these functions so how come other guests can do this ?

Just wondering thats all

Those guests are actually looking at the page asking them to register or log-in. Essentially, it's still the same page (the same URL and all), so it appears in Who's Online, but they aren't looking at what's really there.
