Why no AWD Turbo 1G/2G DSM's

OK,first off let me say that I fully understand that the DSM community is small when compared to other enthusiest groups such as the Honda crowd and even the Nissan crowd. But over the past 10 years I've watched the DSM community grow by leaps and bounds. I have been racing and building Eagle Talons specificaly for around 11-12 years. I started off with a 92' Talon TSi AWD turbo. Great car! It beat up on Mustangs and Hondas on the street and track in the summer. And in the winter it got me around just as easily as my Nissan Pathfinder had. With little modifications the car went 12.20's in the quarter mile. My next Talon was a 93'. That car had roughly $10,000 invested in it including the price of the car and it saw 11 flat just under 130mph on pump gas and 10.66 @ 137mph on C-16.
Now my current drag car is a 92' Talon TSi AWD that has gone 9.41 @ 151mph which was done when the car was being raced in the NHRA's Sport compact Sport RWD class. Which limits the car from weighing less than 3,100lbs with a power adder. 3,200lbs with 2 power adders. So as you can see the car is not just some gutted Honda that has no interior and looks all hacked up. It still looks like an extremely streetable car. And besides the price of C-16 it still can be driven on the street.
Now my question is this. With a history like the AWD Turbo DSM's have and it's capabilities why would they not include them in the game? I know what your thinking. "Hey,theres a Galant VR-4 in the game". It's got a 4G63, it's turbocharged, it's AWD. But when your a 1G DSM fanatic nothing but a 1GB or 1GA Talon will do.

If they apply turbo DSM's into GT5 they would also have to apply some kind of break down mechanism that wouldn't allow you to finish the race lol

IIRC, there was a GS-T and/or GSX in GT1 or GT2...

i would have loved to have seen a 1g awd dsm (having owned my fair share). closest we have is the 89 Galant VR4 and I guess the early gen Evos.

👍 Gotta love unreliable DSM's. Whoever buys one is a glutton for punishment.
 
LOL,thats pretty funny! I know the rep these cars have. However theres a reason for the BS. I've literaly owned dozens of 1GB and 1GA Talons over the past 12 years. However I'm not familiar with the headaches associated with them. I'm also an ASE Master Re-Certified tech with 20 years under my belt,but as long as you have the ability to put the square peg in the square hole you should be able to operate and maintain a DSM without any issues. Only now with my current Talon have things become a little more difficult to deal with and thats only because of the level of performance the car is at. I've had several 11 and 10 second street driven 1G Talon's. But theres a huge differance in cost and labor when your talking about an 8 second car and a 10 or 11 sec street/strip car.

And just to clarify, crank walk was an issue with second gen 7 bolt motors found in 95-99 models. First gen 7 bolts found in 92.5'-94' were not prone to crankwalk as they did'nt not have the faulty thrust bearings which actually causes the "crankwalk" issues.
Any DSM I've ever owned has had a 6 bolt motor dropped in it. However I know some guys that build some pretty nasty 7 bolts and have had great results.
All the complaints you hear about the DSM's being unreliable and POS's mainly come from younger kids that love to beat the snot out of them,let them run low on oil,never check the fluid levels, just pretty much put gas in them and expect them to run perfectly forever. Now, the older crowd that takes care of them.....they can appreciate them for what they are because they actually service them and keep them in running condition. Instead of just turning them into rusted out lawn ornaments.

"Why is there no this car in GT5?". Same reason why there's no that car in GT5. Or the other car. Or any car you care to mention.
