Why no ghosts?

I think FC is the only racing game I have come across that doesn't have a ghost mode in Time Trial...

I can't say that I miss it hugely, I'd turn it on in GT to check my relative position, but only for a split second here and there, I found it too distracting to leave it on all the time.
