Does anyone know why they don't sell things like GTP or even GT Concept in America. It's not like it won't sell, so what is the reason? I'm guessing there is a real reason for it and you guys know the answer. Thanks in advance.

That's because those games weren't supposed to succed in USA , having mainly Euro cars ( GT concept ) , and Japanese cars ( Prologue ). Otherwise PD hates USA.

I guess because we are so much better than everyone else they decided to be nice to them instead of us.

On the contrary superior american…
I think that you’ll find that cut down GT games are not sold in the US because Sony do not trust the American market to discern between tasters and full releases.
In other words they don’t want sales of prologue and concept to eat into the reputation and revenue of GT3 and GT4.

Are you guys really insecure, or can you just not notice a joke (albeit a not very funny one).

Also with GT4 (hopefully) coming out in 2 months there isn't much point in bringing over Prologue now.

Its not that we're insecure, its just that ALOT of people really arent happy with the US for one reason or another. Comments like yours (joke or no joke) trigger something in people.

But anyways, demos wouldnt cut into sales if they released em say 12months in advance like the Japanese Prologue.(Not sure when prologue was released, 12mo rough guestimate.:) )

Demos cut into sales. For example if the average Joe buys GT4 prologue, they then are less likely to shell out when the full game comes along. Remember we are talking about non enthusiasts (the people who do the bulk of the purchasing) Hence cut down games can impact sales and undermine the hype for the major release.
Sony UK made this very point when they were undecided about whether to bring prologue to Britain.

By the way there is much discussion about these marketing issues in previous threads.

Hey, stop the fighting. Or insults or whatever. Mods don't like, and I don't like it. I really don't want to have PunkRock see this. Please do not let those get out of control.

BTW, I understand your question. To just add this, the GT4P would have been nice, but as of now, there's no need for it.

This is an overdone quesiton. I'm guessing someone said this (considering I haven't seen the other replies). I think the question has been mentioned before. Use a search before the Moderators lock this thread up and send it to the graveyard.

That's not a typical american response, that's a typical redneck response, it's very funny when a guy that almost chose a nick like "fat$ss" to call evryone else inferior to him...
but anyway, americans give the impresion to the rest of the world of being both arrogant and stupid, i know for a fact that most americans aren't like that, but it's guys like you that give that impresion to the rest of the world. (nevermind the fact that your current president is THE incarnation of that thought.)

Can't you guys take a joke???
I wasn't talking down to anyone. Do you think I really thought that was the reason they didn't release these games in the US. And no I am not a redneck!!! And if I have a nickname half making fun of my self wouldn't you think I don't think I am better then everyone else.

You know, I'm kind of glad we didn't get Prologue and/or concept because when GT4 comes out it's going to be all worth while. 👍

^ think it through..............how is it physically possible to come out in the US before Japan!!! :scared: ......thats insane..........there is no way that will ever happen.....if it gets delayed in Japan everwhere will get delayed......Japan will be the first to get a Japanese game and that is final!

As John always puts it
IGNore IGN.
The site is made on rumours and uncomfirmed details. I think the other thing with the American release is it would just mean too much manufacturing as America is one of the biggest markets. Which is just more trouble. And yes, you would probably have people buying GT:C and GT4:P and forgetting about GT3/GT4.

If you or I owned a business and you knew what/where the biggest market to make profit in would YOU decide to not do anything just because the manufacturing would be greater than everywhere else. You know your going to get your money's worth in the end. I'll jump on the big market for the big profit's any day of the week.

NOTE" I'm not implying that you've said North America is full of ignorant people"
I have to dissagree with this concept of the North American market being ignorant to not know that GT:C and GT4:P are only sub games of the GT series. If a GT fan is going to buy the game then they already know enough to realise that the main titles are GT1,GT2,GT3,GT4..ect. Most likely the current GT fans are pretty much going to be the majority of buyers. So I see no reason why SCEA and PD dont release the game here.

Crap if SCEA and PD think that were to ignorant to realise the obvious, then they should put a huge neon label on the front of the case that says "This is just a GT sub game, look for GT4 to be released in stores sometime soon"

That wasnt true for Metal Gear Solid 2, but not that it means anything though. :indiff:

As for GTC and GTP, whether they were here or not, I still would have bought at least one of them.
