pretty sure this might be complaint already, but I don't care.

Can't remember when it started, but right now, you cannot use H-shifter, after equiping a customized transmission. This is extremely annoying, since I hate using sequential on normal cars, and like to be able to customize my gears and still use the H-shifter/clutch.

Thankfully I use G25, and it senses when I switch to sequential mode, since I set my paddle shifters into horns, lights. I would go insane if i had to use g27, and forced to use paddle shifters.

I agree. It's a disappointment to purchase a car only to find that the H-shifter doesn't work. I've been burned many times on this, but haven't figured out why the H-shifter works with some cars with customized transmissions but not all. For cars that have a sequential in real life I use my DFGT.

I found this post by searching for 'clutch/shifter' while trying to find threads that discuss the clutch in GT6. The general consensus from the few scattered posts I've read is that it's not good. I don't have too much problems and have the occasional mis-shift, but most of my issues are shifting into 2nd after a standing start.

Normally I always drive on automatic but yesterday I drove the Alpine A110 15th Anniv on the intermediate 1979 seasonal @ Silverstone and the H-shifter worked fine. I have my A110 upgraded completely so the customized transmission is definately there, could it maybe be car dependant? I have a Logitech G27 by the way.

A little off-topic but is there a realistic setting for choosing between automatic, sequencial or H-shifter? I mean if I drive a classic car I would only be able to drive it with the H-shifter. If I drive a race car I would need to use the sequential shifter. If I drive a modern road car I could perhaps choose between automatic and H-shifter if said car would have both options available in reality as well. Such feature would be great!

Not this is not an option in GT, it's more of a racing sim thing where you can choose to enable or disable certain features like autoclutch, auto throttle blip etc. Even in the sims I've played though, you can still use paddles with older cars if you want to, not everyone has a shifter, but if you're setting up a lobby you can disable the synromesh feature by disabling the auto throttle blip and disable the autoclutch that works with the paddles. Even then paddles still work, but shifting is more sudden and your best bet is to blip the throttle on downshift with the paddles with your right foot, while braking with the left foot.

I'm really hoping this kind of feature comes to GT7 as it really adds a whole new dimension to driving and racing.
