Hi guys, i've had gt5 for a few months now and I feel it's time to invest in a wheel. I just want to find out where I can find a great wheel but not spend more than 150 quid, I am currently favouring the DFGT with stand. And tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much that is very helpful, I think the DFGT is best value for money IMO.

I think it is too, but I would also consider a G27 on sale an equally good bang for the buck.

I'd agree as well. If you don't KNOW that a really nice wheel is a good investment for you personally, but you want to try driving with a wheel, the DFGT is the answer unless you can easily afford something better. I don't think there's many cheaper options that are worth the effort.

The DFGT is in my opinion the best budget wheel available for GT5, hell maybe for all racing sims. I had mine for quite some time before I upgraded to a G27. I wouldn't go back, but the DFGT is awesome and won't leave a huge hole in your wallet.

Yeah thanks thats what I'm thinking, I don't really want to spend 275 quid for a g27 and stand especially as this will be my first wheel.

In your price range, DFGT is THE answer 100%.👍

Cheers, hopefully get this within the next few weeks for my birthday! Cant wait to try it out and lower my lap times!

Always good is the resale value. If you wanna get a dfgt then later upgrade, you could easily get a good amount for it!

dfgt was my first wheel, over a year old and still going strong at my friends place. i highly reccomend it.

I'm with you on this. I wouldn't trade my G27 for anything but I also have a DFGT on standby as backup that I also like using. I baisically got the G27 just because its quieter and I like the pedals better. Both are very good wheels, just depends on your budget.

Agreed with all the positive outcomes of the DFGT, my friend has one and it sure is amazing considering in its price range.

@KB18FAN:

What is the biggest difference between G27 and DFGT. Is any of them easier to use? I know there is leather on G27 and probably nicer things inside. The pads ( not sure if thats the name of the buttons on the wheel you shift with) on the DFGT is a joke I think.
Do you use the manual gearbox?
What happens if you dont push down the clutch using the manual gearbox?
I have DFGT and like it a lot but I am looking more and more on a G27 and want it bad:)

you will be bad to start with, but dont panic.. after a week or so you will get good. 👍

Yeah ive heard lots of things like that, but I know after practice It will be worthwhile

@lustika. If you use paddles to shift, you dont push the clutch at all. If you drive with the shifter you can use the clutch OR no clutch and bang gears. The clutch shifting is not perfect in the game and slows you down. Paddles are the way to go.

Everything lowrider said. Also, like I said before, I like the G27 because it's quieter, Ilike the pedals more, and the quality of the whole setup is just better. Having said that tho, they both perform equally well for what they are, one being a base model and the other being higher end. Thats how I characterise them.
