Why shouldn't I buy a Fanatec GT3v2 + CSR-E pedals/shifter?

I'm looking into getting a decent wheel. I've had a DFP and a few other options over the years and I've just never been able to drive decently with a potentiometer-based brake pedal, not to mention plastic bases that slide around. I'm gonna be playing desk-mounted, and only with PC and PS3/4, as I'm pretty much over Forza 4 and it seems quite unlikely that anything will work on the Xbox One. (Which I'm not planning on getting for a while, unlike the PS4 which is already preordered.)

$259 for the "XL" combo with the CSR-E pedals and CSR shifter set, plus the wheel/shifter mount, seems like a steal of a combo deal compared to anything else I can find. The only comparable option I see is the G27, and I think the pedals won't compare to the CSR-E pedals.

Am I heading in the right direction here, or are there any reasons I shouldn't be looking at this setup?

Yeah, that's the biggest worry I have so far, and I'm kinda waiting until we hear something about compatibility before I actually go ahead and order the wheel.

For what it's worth, though, GT will probably be the only game I'll use the wheel for on PS4, and GT7's gotta be years away, so I know I'll probably have three years or so before I'd have to use the wheel on PS3, and I'm really more in need of it for PC sims anyway.

For me the pedals with load cell are by far the best bit of my Fanatec set (I should point out that I have the Clubsport V1 pedals and Porsche GT2 wheel. Not sure how the CSR Elite pedals compare).

The Porsche wheels are far superior to DFP or DFGT, but in comparison with G25/27 it's more about what you prefer. The Logitech is smaller diameter, spins faster, but the cogs give FFB a kind of rattling sensation. The Porsche wheels are smoother with the belt, the larger wheel rim feels more like a real car, but all that weight in the rim means it regularly feels a bit sluggish. I'd say if you prefer to race faster race cars, the G25/27 wheel is more appropriate. If you want to simulate road cars, the Porsche wheels are better.

I currently use my G25 with the PC, and my Fanatec combo with GT5 and Forza 4. Switching between the wheel rims is no big deal, but switching from the load cell back to G25's pedals takes some getting used to. However, the G25's sequential shifter feels a lot more sturdy than the basic Porsche shifter set.

I can't answer for the PS4 compatibility question but I can say I love my Fanatec CSR. From what I've heard other guys explain the CSR is more down the line of what you're saying the G25-G27 is like. The Porsche wheels feel heavy like road cars, while the CSR is more race car feeling. Just thought I'd share my 2 cents.:)
