Perhaps to see the opposite of the spectrum I ask this specific question in relation to nyquil...(one you drink to sleep, one you drink to be awake)

Why shouldn't you overdose on caffeine? Do you develop an irregular heartbeat? How addictive can it become? What are some symptoms and generally "bad things" that can happen to you if you overdose on caffeine? (I read somewhere it can take 10 grams of caffeine to kill you)

If you are worried about caffeine intake, this site I came across when I did my little research project on caffeine

Lists caffeine in popular drinks and etc. http://www.energyfiend.com/

An OD on caffeine? I know you get caffeine headaches if you get a withdrawal. My guess is an increased heart rate, resulting in higher blood pressure and a stroke or something like that. That wouldn't be fun, while the ramp up to it would be amazing.

Caffeine will accelerate your heartbeat. Causing you to eventually have a heart attack.

That's why Vodka And Red Bull is a deadly mix. While the vodka makes you feel drowsy mentally, the caffeine is kicking your heart into overdrive.

Overuse

In large amounts, and especially over extended periods of time, caffeine can lead to a condition known as "caffeinism." Caffeinism usually combines "caffeine dependency" with a wide range of unpleasant physical and mental conditions including nervousness, irritability, anxiety, tremulousness, muscle twitching (hyperreflexia), insomnia, headaches, respiratory alkalosis[51] and heart palpitations.[52] Furthermore, because caffeine increases the production of stomach acid, high usage over time can lead to peptic ulcers, erosive esophagitis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.[53] However, since both "regular" and decaffeinated coffees have been shown to stimulate the gastric mucosa and increase stomach acid secretion, caffeine is probably not the sole component of coffee responsible.[54]
There are four caffeine-induced psychiatric disorders recognized by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition: caffeine intoxication, caffeine-induced anxiety disorder, caffeine-induced sleep disorder, and caffeine-related disorder not otherwise specified (NOS).

Other side effects of caffeine overuse include: dizziness, fast heartbeat, blurred vision, drowsiness, dry mouth, flushed dry skin, increased urination, loss of appetite, nausea and stomachaches.

There you go 👍

Um, actually, the problem is that both caffeine and alcohol depend on the same P450 liver enzyme to be metabolized, meaning that if you ingest both, this system is unable to counteract the effects of either (ie metabolize) as much as it normally could.
