This can prove to be informative and one can know the dangers of overdosing...

So what happens if you overdose on nyquil? It says on the bottle it can hurt your liver...I mean does your liver spaz on you? Do you go into a coma? Major headaches? What would happen?

The main ingredient is alcohol. I think that helps out a bit.

Obviously you shouldn't overdose on anything.

Unless your ultimate goal is to suffer or die, of course. Because, if you're feeling suicidal, there is truly no better way to go than in a pool of Nyquil.

The Nighttime, Depressed, Self-Loathing, Feelings of Inadequacy, Pain, Emotional Suffering, Paranoia So You Can End It All Medicine.

*Ding ding ding*, we have a winner!

You can overdose on anything, including water. Anytime you disrupt various chemical equilibria in your body, you might be harming yourself.

It says you will experience severe health problems and should contact the poison control center. I have a hard time believing it could be that bad after drinking, say, a bottle, but you nevre know.

Yeah but I'm curious to know the details of overdose, say from just getting too much sleep to liver damage to coma to even death...what does happen?

DXM, what was (might still be) in Robotussin, causes brain damage if overdosed.

The main ingredient in Nyquil, however, is acetaminophen (paracetamol), which is processed in the liver. If you overload with it, your liver won't be able to metabolize it, and it will become toxic in your blood.

If there's too much for the liver to cope with (not all peoples livers are the same, you might have a liver condition and not know it) and it can't get rid of the drug from the body can/will lead to organ failure (in the worst case) and poisoning.

The Livers a very delicate thing, take care of it.

Going from that I'd say not much.

Paracetamol according to my Biology teacher is quite unpredictable. What could send some people into Coma's with live failure might not have much effect on another person.
