This question always floats around my head. It looks like those greedy b@st@rds care more about the money than giving the public what they want. People are having complains about their PS2 and XBox's being broken. Games that are being rushed more Microsoft Windows being produced. I am not a Microsoft hater. Ultimately I am being convinced more of buying Mac stuff. They are more reliable and stable. At the beginning of this year I got a tv just to play with my PS2. The thing was awesome for like 4 months. After that, it broke. Now it looks like we have 1 great game every year, example: Xbox gamers. And they take more time to make games. Ironically one of the most stable consoles is last in sales production: Nintendo GC

I think its you. I've had my ps2 since nearly day one, and it still works. hell i still have my orginal gameboy from back in '89 (or when ever they came out), and it still works.

Your TV may have broken in 4 months, but what did you pay for it?

When I was a kid a 19" TV was like $750, back when that was several weeks' salary for a family. Now they are like $150 and a family makes that in a day.

In the consumer market, price is more important than durability.

Hell, my PS2 fell from the top of the television to the floor (I accidentally stepped on the cord while disconnecting our DVD player) and it still works like a charm.

I haven't had problems either, well those damn interact discs(Gameshark and Sharkport)don't like to run, but everyone's do that. I've had my TV since '99 with no problems. Got an '80 something VCR with no problems, and a late 80's early 90's Stereo reciever with no problems.

You just have to buy the good stuff, like RCA and Sony. Sony stuff is problem free(till you use a Sega Genisis on it for 5 years followed by PSX, and it was from 86' and used as our main TV, so we used the crap out of it...now it's singing purple haze lol).

The only Sony thing I had a problem with was a 20" TV from like '85, my grandpa owned a Sony only store here(still in buisness with 2 locations now, although he passed away in '94)and one dad in '85 or around that time, someone thought they could just drive into the store, well they couldn't but they did. This TV was hit and fell on the floor. It still worked fine, but it would let out this high pitch sound, and it was pretty loud too. And the tv didn't have a remote, so I used a yard stick(cause I have a bunkbed sorta, I can't just go down and change the volume all the time) and when the high pitch came on, I'd give it a smack with the yard stick and it would be ok for a little bit. That TV is now being used in our laundry area downstairs, and it doesn't make the high pitch sound anymore.

And I've never had problems with windows...

What a shame! - Most likely for the cat to last longer than the PS2! - Unless the cat got squashed by a car.

Was the cat a big one or a small one?

(GCN story)
I plugged in my Gamecube and my dog ran across and took the controller out of its socket and was running around with it screaming!!! That controller works fine (even though it was dragged around for five minutes.

Mine broke last week - I got it in mid-December.

Apparently it's laser stopped reading discs or something.

they flushed it down the toilet (dont worry)- it was fine
they left it in a car where it was more than 110 degress F-it was fine
