Why want the black F1, is it special?

Ok I have been looking at all of these threads on people wanting to get the black F1 but I always have one question in my mind. Why want the black F1, there is nothing special about it I do not believe unless I am wrong but the only thing that seems special is you cannot win the black one. But is there anything special or unique about it other than the paint. More horsepower or is it just black?

Maybe it does, but I just think in my opinion and maybe some others opinions that they should give you a different car than another F1, maybe something you can ONLY get after beating the game, and not just a car you can get in that color only after beating the game.

True it would be better if it was a car you can only get by beating the game.

We should of got a Sauber C11 or C291 as a 100% completion!!

True, but I personally think that maybe, just maybe people would wanna beat the game more if they knew they got a car that was maybe the "best car" performance wise and all that at the end, but since they say the Playstation Pescarolo is the best then it's not important. But I would want to complete it more if it mean I beat it I got a car that you could ONLY get by beating it and not have it be some car like a 2cv or some stock car, maybe something "special".

Heh, the reason why it weighs 2kg less is because its raw carbon-fibre instead of being painted, extreme weight saving measures!

Isn't it also worth a couple thousand more?
I'm not at home to check right now, but I think I remember seeing its price (sell value) being higher then normal.

well, if you didn't paint a jumbo jet it would be like taking the weight of a horse off the plane (i dunno how much that is...300kgs?)

I think they screwed up, as usually credits play after you beat a game, but these credits play halfway through, and at the end, you just get a car. It seems the 50% mark is more exciting to reach than the 100.

Meh, if I get it for completing, then I'll keep it, when and if I get it.

otherwise, it's just an F1 car in bare carbon.

Yeah, all it is is a symbol that you have completed the game. Many of my friends have the game and they marvel at my black FGT. It doesn't have any advantages to a normal FGT than the 2 kg and that doesn't help that much on track. Since about 2 months ago, my black FGT is the only car I drive and I work on setups for it. If you do get it, keep it, its an awesome car nonetheless.

1) the mass of the paint on a C-5 Galaxy cargo plane (admittedly larger than a Jumbo) is over a ton, or 1000kgs. That said, to me the black FGT looks like it is painted black and is not bare carbon (which would need some form of surface treatment anyway I would think) so the weight saving must be somewhere else. BAR-style fuel tank perhaps? :sly:

2) Horses typically have a mass of around 500 to 600kgs and larger breeds such as Clydesdales will tip the scales at over 700kgs.

3) The black FGT car is worth getting because it looks like this:

Other than appearance I have noticed no particular advantage that the black FGT has over my 8100 mile black-and-grey one.
