Why was my post deleted?

I posted a link to James May's Cars of the People on BBC iPlayer and my post was deleted for advising users to circumnavigate copyright? I'm confused. How does BBC iPlayer circumnavigate the BBC's copyright?

Should I have put a notice saying iPlayer works for UK users only? (Possibly ROI as well? I don't know. I know it doesn't work in the Netherlands even though we get BBC's One and Two over there.)
