Why were my polls closed?

The polls closed are in the Steering Wheels and Cockpits section.

Maybe I broke a rule or something? I'm looking for forum guidelines but can't find them.

The reason for the polls is that I'm trying to design a new 8020 cockpit frame and come up with a parts list. The info would have helped with the design.

Probably because you made 5 different ones in about an hour. You could have easily put them in one thread without a poll and just asked people their opinions.

Sorry Justin, that didn't clear it up for me. Is there a certain rule that I'm breaking in terms of: 5 polls in about an hour?

I don't know why it's upsetting everyone.

From my standpoint, a thread asking opinions is useful for gathering the qualifiers such as: "I like the g25 wheel but the CSP pedals are better, but the alcantera material on the fanatec is better, but you can hang the g25 pedals", etc....And, you have to go through the thread and count the opinions one way or the other.

If you are looking for a broad overview with an updated percentage result, a poll is significantly better.

If i broke a rule, I apologize, and i won't do it again. If not, what gives?

Seeing them in passing, I was the one that closed them, although I had a feeling it was design questions.

Knowing that now, I'll reopen them but in the future, make mention of that in your posts, maybe even going so far as to cross reference them all.

No, there is no rule limiting the creating of threads, either with or without polls, but after that many, that quickly, surely you can see how it would look like flooding. As I said, I'll reopen them and if you need help with cross referencing them, let me know.

Also, sorry for not giving you an explanation earlier - I closed them and right after was called away until now.

Well, we are just not fond of people flooding the forums with any type of activity, whether it be polls, images, senseless text, et cetera...

I mean, one poll every other day is fine; however, you find that you will get much more out of a thread's responces by not having a poll; They tend to encourage quick answers with no explanation, in our opinion and experience, unless there is a small and/or finite number of possible answers.
