I already mentioned this, but here it goes:

1- When you buy a game, you should expect to have access to all content.
2- The DLC is too expensive for the content it offers and compared with the price of the original game.
3- For fans who like to collect all (like me, and yes I know no one is making me buying anything), they will never know how much they will have to spend to have the full game.
4- DLCs can only be bought online...
5- DLCs are not a physical thing, just codes (probably with expiration dates).
6- YOu can install your game in any PS3 and use any PSN account you want, every time you want. Not with DLCs.
7- Game companies are exploiting this business and being unfair. They release 80%-90% of the game, and the rest is DLCs, sometimes available at the launch date.

Think about it.

1- This content was not ready when the game was released thus it is extra content they are providing for the game at a cost to make it worthwhile for them to produce it.
2- Some game companies hold back content (EA, Codemasters, etc) and that's just part of their business case.

My advice, get your head out of the sand and learn about how business works and read up on the news provided here and elsewhere.

Dlc is added content. It's not in the game from the start. And I agree with you about the price. But that's the way it is nowdays. In the old days we got expansions instead which were usually better value for money. It's the times.

But I don't think PD released the game unfinished because of wanting to cash in on dlc. Then we would have seen dlc much sooner.

If its not for you, don't get it. Then, allow everyone else to make up their own minds. When you bought the game (over a year ago if you bought it at release) you were given the full content at the time. Over a year of development later, PD are still supporting the game with regular free updates (though they are only online as well - 4). They are also making additional content available that has been developed within that year. It comes at a small cost, but it could just be left in the GT6 pile instead.

I personally have got all the content so far, and you won't go far around these forums without running into people that bought some of the content multiple times as well...

1- True, but with the modern age of games qquite often the DLC are an expansion of the original game. Not missing content. If a game had 700 downloadable tracks over six years, would they be classed as missing content too?

2- Do you expect the workers at PD to work for nothing? They spend hours apon hours making extra things for the game/fixing bugs, and they already give away a ton of that time for free. DLC has been around for YEARS, and at all sorts of prices.

3- They will actually, when the company stops providing DLC. :)

4- Downloadable Content...

5- For GT5 you buy it in the PS Store then activate it via your console, then install it in the game. No need to enter any codes...

6- Don't know enough about that to comment.

7- No, they are expanding the game from it's finished state (most of the time).
What people don't seem to realise is that with new consoles comes new technology and capabilities which means more and more and more time has to get spent developing a game. As the processing power increases so does the amount of detail, and to get a lot of detail you need to spend a lot of time to design it.

It's only going to take longer and longer to make games.

1- When you buy a game, you should expect to have access to all content.
You buy what is on the disk
2- The DLC is too expensive for the content it offers and compared with the price of the original game.
That is for everyone induvidual to decide
3- For fans who like to collect all (like me, and yes I know no one is making me buying anything), they will never know how much they will have to spend to have the full game.
That's right nobody knows, but you can stop buying when want
4- DLCs can only be bought online...
SO??
5- DLCs are not a physical thing, just codes (probably with expiration dates).
Downloadable content.... I'ts hard to download a physical disk

6- YOu can install your game in any PS3 and use any PSN account you want, every time you want. Not with DLCs.
That's a good point, thats one

7- Game companies are exploiting this business and being unfair. They release 80%-90% of the game, and the rest is DLCs, sometimes available at the launch date.
capanies want to make money any why they can, like it's always been.

Think about it.
I did

So are you able to prove that all the content that has been a DLC for GT5 was ready before launch, and besides why would a Game Developer want there game to be not as good as it can be at launch, otherwise less people will buy it.... and they don't know that the game is going to be popular enough for people playing it 1-2 years later that there going to make more money than if it was more popular at launch, why would they take the risk? If PD had spare time they would of made more cars standard... I think it was Sony that was pushing them to launch it..

1- When you buy a game, you should expect to have access to all content.

DLC is content composed, created, and released after the game has shown progress as a selling product with popularity. Content not available, in this case the GT5 chromeline/stealth, was simply a pre-order incentive which varies depending on the continent.

2- The DLC is too expensive for the content it offers and compared with the price of the original game.

Compared to other DLCs, I find PDs pricing rather competitive to other companies, like treyarch/infinity ward(CoD series) and EA(NFS);

Take Call of Duty:Black Ops for example:

For every map "pack" that they release (3 as of now), they will make 60$ USD for every player that wises to stay current with the others.

That means Treyarch makes double that their original product sells for, without having to retail and produce a physical product.

PD, on the other hand, only releases DLC that the majority demands (occasionally) along with the occasional product placement by Nissan (2012 GTR, Nissan Leaf) for the average price of ~5$ USD per release.

It may add up to quite a lot if you want everything, but you have free choice to buy what you want.
3- For fans who like to collect all (like me, and yes I know no one is making me buying anything), they will never know how much they will have to spend to have the full game.

It's not like they don't list the prices...
The "Full game" is what you bought on the disk, unless otherwise stated by the game creators.

4- DLCs can only be bought online...
Downloadable Content can only be accessed and downloaded onto your console online...

5- DLCs are not a physical thing, just codes (probably with expiration dates).

The codes you are referring to are the pre-order chromeline/stealth codes, neither of which you need to have the full experience of GT5.

6- You can install your game in any PS3 and use any PSN account you want, every time you want. Not with DLCs.

There is a fix for this by PD called the "Family Pack"; it means that the DLC bought by one PSN account can be used on any PS3(with your PSN, of course) by any PSN Account you want.

7- Game companies are exploiting this business and being unfair. They release 80%-90% of the game, and the rest is DLCs, sometimes available at the launch date.

If you are not satisfied with what they provide at the start, then play something else.

Think about it.

Yes, Oyashiro-Sama, Think about it. Rephrase your claim before reinstating your opinion.

If We follow your logic Than GT5 and or any other Game won't be Released in Time.
DLC's are Essentially There To Make money first Amuse you second (Yes it is Harsh but)

Finally No One is indeed Forcing you to buy it ,I didn't buy any and Frankly Spending 30 Pounds of my Currency on a Virtual Oval is plain Stupid ,But others Won't see it the same way I do .

All in all don't complain about something that Other People Enjoy /2 cents

Edit:And By the Way I think PD's DLC prices is also Expensive but not as Expensive as others Games 👍

This is never going to end.

I'm also against the concept of DLC which is a newfound way for developpers/editors to make a lot of easy money.
But let's face it, there's nothing you can do about it.
It's like 3D cinema : no one asked for it but sometimes you can't avoid it.
The only way to make it stop is if everyone stops seeing 3D movies but you know it's never going to happen.
Same with DLC, it won't stop unless everyone stops buying them.

Yes it pains me to spend 10€ for 6 car and a track when I already spent 60€ for 1000+ cars/40 tracks...
But in the end it's just a choice you are willing to make or not. GT is my favorite video game franchise so I want to have access to all the content.

This is a matter of individual choice. You're willing to pay for added content or you're not.

I bought the 1st one just for SPA, then the 2nd one and the new one will not receive a cent from my pocket cause i don't find anything interesting there....

As long as i can enjoy my game without being forced buying a DLC ( with just new cars and non interesting track... from my point of view : D ) what PD is doing is doing is ok and i say understandable i just hope in a more interesting DLC with real tracks or old ones from GT series ! But this has been already said too many times ^^

Think about it.

1. DLC is extra content added on to expand the gaming experiance
2. You don't have to buy it...i dont have extra COD maps!
3. Collecting means spending, just like real life
4. Yep, thats the whole idea
5. So is Microsoft word...you only pay for the security code (technically)
6. My fattie PS3 blew up, and my new slim has all my DLC...thats all i care about..who needs multiple accounts for one game?
7. Isn't i great that we live in a world where the game is continually updated, providing extra fun! Seriously, the GT5 disc is probally at capacity now...no wonder it doesn't have everything everyone wants, PD try to please everyone!

👍
PD had very ambitious plans, resulting on having a ~85% Game, with things fixed, then added. That is why we had 1 entire year of no DLC and all patches meant to fix the game.

This debate has already been played out in another thread and someone summed it up nicely

Dont like it dont buy it very simple

Nope. I disagree, I'm buying it because it expands my game well after its been released. :)

i agree with pd. since launch pd has gone backwards. poor dlc which is ripping folk off. why charge $3.99 and also £3.99. they are both same figures yet do not equal the same. We pay £40 average per game so why should we have to pay more for more content. it should already be on the damn game anyways. yes im one of those who will not be buying the the dlc again. All pd cares about is money money money

I'm going to buy all the DLC just to annoy you. I don't even want it that much. :sly:

Yes content unfinished at launch should be on the game anyway...love the logical thinking going on here

Cars can be dlc that is fine with me but a test track? that is just lame.. they should at least make a 1km long straight track just to test speeds etc.. how hard is it really??

We already have a DLC discussion thread.
