I've been trying/fighting with myself to decide whether or not I should actually make this thread, and here we are...

Why?

That question applies to one very important question, at least to me; Why can't you choose the color you want to buy your vehicle in as opposed to the one color only you're offered when you actually buy one? If you don't see where this question is going, or why it's been asked allow me to guide you, baby birds.

You partake in pretty much any of the available Invitations or the Manufacturers Competitions and you have the option to chose the color you want to use during the event. Why one place but not the other?

Does it bother you? Another thing the begets me even more than the available paint schemes is how a Need For Speed game manages to lack in the customization department. If that isn't ironic, I don't know what is then.

You can change the colour when at the buy screen, but only at the beginning.
After going up a couple of levels the livery editor is unlocked and that's where you change the colour etc.
Shame you can't preview it or get an exact factory shade before you buy though

I remember the livery editor from the very beginning - and no it doesn't bother me that we have to take the car somewhere else to get it painted.

The only time when it did was when I bought my GT3RS and whenI changed the colour, the decals and wheels went from orange to black.
