If indeed the OP doesn't mind spending the money. I would say T500 is the best choice.

However is budget is key, then the G27 is ideal.

As well I have the DFGT set up fir my kids. Spring nodded in brake for more resistance. Great wheel. They league race and are respected. Granted it's. Slower car league. However they race clean and not all that slow. This IMO is from having a good wheel.

DFGT in FFB is comparable to the G2X's. You lack 6spd shifter and clutch. However it's a solid wheel and great first time wheel. Can be had for 100 dollars at times new.

I would say go DFGT and if you really take to the wheel and want more later. Upgrade to a T500 and have this for friends and a spare. League racing and wheel breaks will leave you wishing you had a spare. Hahaha

G25 is really reliable so far. And i'm using it for about 4 Years now in various simracing games and its still in good shape.

Although if I would go for a new one i'd choose the GT3RSv2. T500 seems overpriced.

Hi mate. That's a greatquestion. I'm not a competitive racer, I like to race but i mostly like to enjoy the cars I know I will never get to drive in real life. So to me the best is the one that puts me closer to the feeling of driving a enzo or the 599, well the feeling of driving those kind of super cars. The most powerful car I drove in real life was an Rx8 so, I didn't get even close :P
Thanks

That's cool. Wish I had the change one day to treat an RX8. Sure it's a superb car 👍
I drove a BMW E34 540i back then, didn't lack in pulling ;)

It is still a not bad option, but like I've said other times I consider that combo a "little" scam considering that the Clubsport edition before it was 320€/$ and included wheel, shifter and Clubspot pedals...

The price jumped significantly when the GT2 wheel came out. I purchased my set from around 350$ with the shifter, about 2 months before they raised the prices.

Logitech G27 way better! I buy a wheel from fanatec gt3 rs for 300€ and it broke from the 1st plug in to ps3! They do not have support never answer to the phone! My friend have g27 and it work fine and it have 2 years guaranty! Plus very nice feedback and nice looking too! Not plastic like fanatec ! Ts500 is to expensive so g27 is the best!!

T500 is probably the best wheel. Fanatec gt3 RS and GT2 are both belt driven, so they have smoother ffb than the g27. The Clubsport pedals are great.

While I would definitely put the T500RS on top. The built quality is a notch above that of anything from Fanatec and a few more above Logitech G series. But if money is really not an issue I would also not rule out Frex Type G which is Frex designed Simwheel, pedals and shifters/handbrake built around Logitech G series electronic making them compatible with the PS3 and GT5. Of course, all the mechanical parts are Frex's. Here's the pic of the whole setup:

The price for the whole thing is probably close to a price of a good used vehicle but it's the ultimate rig for GT5.

Yeah that Frex wheel looks just plain sexy 👍 I gotta give those guys major props. Would love to give that wheel a twirl someday along with a Fanatec + clubs

I have been using a G25 built into a homemade cockpit and it does have a clutch pedal. Great investment, very happy with it.

I am hoping the answer is the Thrustmaster T500 RS, since that is what I bought and will be arriving in a few days.

Aging guys, Thanks a lot for all of your opinions.
I think I'll go with the G27, unless until May some other cool wheel comes out.
Now I have to find a nice playseat that doesn't take much space from my bedroom and of course isn't too expensive.
Anyone has some suggestions please?
thanks a lot :)

Good choice. Those really expensive wheels are too much for casual even die hard sim racers. I will only go for the expensive wheel setup if I have a full motion rig platform.

I really like the set ups people make.

Some very nice DIY rigs out there. PVC makes for a great set up.

However the pre made units tend to look better. Not always. But mostly.

Hi guys, I'm new here but have been sim racing for years. Those considering a FREX should be warned that the new design locks up like the old design did. The old design had a small ball screw that goes bad. The new design has a heftier ball screw, but the wheel still locks up due to the alignment issues previously known to the original wheel. Purchase at your own risk.

Also check out the warranty issue. As I found our recently, my new wheel g-type wheel does not have a warranty. Read the fine print. It says limited warranty, but then when you go to make the purchase after you sign in, the warranty information is inconsistent with what's stated.

Paying for shipping to JAPAN for repairs is costly. You have been warned.
