nope
Okay guys, i've had my Wii for a year and a half, but i just noticed when i moved in into the lounge room and back shimmering dots are appearing in certain places. In some games, such as Spyro Dawn of the Dragon and the SSBB title screen (shown below). I don't really worry about it too much personally, but i am very disappointed that this has happened:

(it actually looks a lot worse than it does in these photos)

(I can't find how to display the full size in the new imageshack setup :()

I researched on the internet, and there are a lot of sources that say the GPU has overheated due to Wiiconnect24. I'll make it clear that i NEVER used Wiiconnect24 or the standby connection. I'm pretty sure it hasn't oveheated cause when i felt the side it was only slightly warm which i assume is okay. (:nervous:)

I just want to say that Wiiconnect24 was NOT used at anytime i've had the wii, and i am very disappointed about this. :(

EDIT: Here shows a better pic of the Brawl title screen with similar effects.
Here is another similar pic, but mine's not this bad.

Well this looks like a graphic glitch, similar stuff happens to some PS3 owners with different results (polygons stretching out etc.) and the reason for this is the GPU that overheats, so it could be the same issue here.

Cant you call Nintendo about this?

I'm not gonna bother at the moment. If i do get it fixed, it most likely wouldn't be with Nintendo.

if it is the reason for overheating, open it up and clean out dusts and install some cooling fans and stick a air filter from the dust getting in. Honestly the wii's ventilation is like a sewage drain, they let everything pass through.

Don't know how to open up your wii? There's a step-by-step (with pics) on how to do that, google it. Don't got a tri-wing screwdriver or know where to buy cooling fans? I suggest Dealextreme.
