I was dozing off to sleep and then GTPlanet came into my mind - I had an idea a pretty bad one but a suggestion......here goes.

On the forum we need a section so we can talk to people of the same nationality over issues, jokes, religion, language, politics, tv etc....... relating to the individual country.

So I am suggesting a Nationality forum and divided into broad countries/regions?

Quite an interesting idea! I could end up making a lot of new forums though, which isn't exactly fun... I really don't know, the Current Events might be enough at the moment for all political issues.
 
Can I have a sub forum in the Automotive section for Mazda?

That, is one hell of a wild idea.

and then everyone would whine for the other makes as well... really not a good idea at all.
 
Well, then just one for the MAZ club. Then when/if other useful clubs for other makes come out we could have those.
 
still not a good idea. why make a forum for your club only? the VFC whiners, and the other club whiners will want one too. honestly, the clubs are ridiculous. you give out stuff, i agree, but i can get all that stuff from my local Mazda dealer too, you know...
 
You are sooo wrong Punk.

You can't get half of the stuff I have. Believe me I've been in the show room at the dealership my dad works at, and there's not much.

So you are saying that you can get screensavers, wallpapers, the RX-8 CD, and the day to day info from your Mazda dealer? I doubt it.

Not fighting.

yep i can. because i know the guys working at that Mazda dealer. i could get any promo items from Nissan, Toyota or whatever dealer is in my area too.

i agree with you, mazkid realy know a lot of mazdas,and he realy take he's club seriously.

but he can't get mazda forum because if he get it,any other car club will want he's own club too.( vipers forums+lambos forums+cobra forums+ferrari forums etc,etc) and we can't give him a forum and to another peoples not.( that is not correct)

sorry mazkid i know you can make a good job with it, but that take a lot of space in the server (=more money to pay) for all that s and anothers reasons is too dificulty give you ( or to all mazda fans )the mazda forum.

don't worry may be later you in the future you will make your owm site, (i bet to anybody, that gonna be the best) and when you do it please let us know ;)

just keep reading alot of maza stuff + a lot of internet and how to make internet pages, ( to make your owm mazda site) that will be so useful to make that dream come true, i'm sure you can do that and more if you realy want it. ;)
 
well yea I agree, I really need to make a site...that one guy that owns mazda.a-spec.ca offered back in august but then it just didn't happen...communication error I think but I'll E-mail him again.

Alternatively, Jordan, just put parts of the forum on Mista's server!
 
I think it's great what MazKid does for his club, but I don't see how one thread could warrant its own forum.

Maybe because that's become one heck of a thread. It would be nice to break it up into a bunch of smaller threads that are more managable and topic oriented.

I've often thought it would be cool to create threads for special members who have proven they are worth it. MazKid is one of those individuals in my mind. I think there should be a "Members' Forum" with subforums moderated by the 'owner' of the forum. You could kick it off with MazKid. Let him name the forum, and give him solitary moderator ability. It could also be a way to test out new general board moderators.

Or get the other moderators in on it. You could add one new Member Forum every two weeks, or month, or something. Have nominations and voting. Or heck, get the whole community in on it. It may be difficult to avoide a popularity contest, but if done correctly, it would be a lot of fun - and probably the greatest reward a member could have. Much better than a custom avatar or title ... (:

Thanks Loud. That's a great idea for everyone really. If people have something that they are good at and it helps the community, then they should have a sub-forum for them to use so that they don't crowd up the main parts of the forum. I think a lot of the MAZ members have stopped posting in the MAZ thread cause it's too big. To find the info you have to search. With new cars coming out in the next several months, having a MAZ or just MazKid forum would help me get info out better and stuff.

Like Mista could have his own Computer forum and such, but this should just be for those members who help the community and deserve it. Like an honorary thing.

Mista would probably lend a server just for these forums(the member forums that is) so it might not be a bad idea...
 
I don't know that it needs to be split up. Everything should remain at GTPlanet. Otherwise you're creating your own forum -which you should be doing on your own. And I think the member forums should stay fairly on-topic with "GTPlanet". Primary: the GT games - that's why we're all here. Secondary: other racing games. Tertiary: other racing and car related activities.

I don't think I would stray too much from our "reason for being".

So if MistaX wants a computer forum, he can start his own. I suggest phpBB, heavily modded.

Yeah I guess so. I think it's worth talking about. I seriously think it could be a good thing if treated properly. AltF8 had a hosted forum for a pretty good while. I think it could be done again with the current member-base.
