I saw on ebuyer that an AMD cpu with an AM3 socket was frequently bought with some motherboard, but the motherboard has an AM2+ socket. Does the '+' on the end mean that it is compatible with the AM3 cpu? Quick replies appreciated, thanks guys, again. :)

I would double check before you buy anything (protecting myself here, lol) but yes I believe AM3 processors can work on AM2+.

To answer your question: No. AM2 and AM3 sockets are differant. The + simply means an upgrade in power or such for the processor (someone please fix this, I think it's right but meh, I'm mainly here to say this:)

Wrong section. Post topics to do with computers and technology in the computers and technology section. This is the gaming section, no place for processors here.

That's actually incorrect. An AM3 CPU can work in an AM2+ socket provided there's a suitable BIOS update, but not the other way around (AM2 CPU won't work in an AM3 socket).
