My PC is fubar. It constantly gives me warnings I say not to give me anymore. It wont save items in alphabetical order, like with pictures, songs, videos, internet favorites list, etc. Not to mention I cannot play .mp4 or HD files no matter what media player I use, when I used to.

I was told the OS could be screwed up. So, will doing a complete system recovery solve my problems? I'm storing items on an external drive. Is there anything else I need to do? What problems will I face after I do a system recovery? Is there something easier? Will I have to install Windows updates, SP2 and other stuff all over again?

Right, I'm not an expert regarding this, but I've gone through the same issues.

One thing you need to realise is that once you've re-installed Windows (I assume it's Windows), you don't unload everything you saved on the hard drive just yet again. Do all the updates, SP2, widnows update, update all the programs you're installing and then, when you're done, do a virus check of both where the OS is installed and of the files you put in the HDD.

After that, your problems should be taken care of.

EDIT: Would I have to make all new eMail addresses?

OK, thanks for the tip. 👍

I plan to just tap F10 once the bootup starts. This should do the trick, after following what you suggest?
